Is there a way...

…to use a watch face while recording an activity (or navigating).
That might be considered as a feature request, but I find it quite limitating not to be able to have a watch face included while hiking (especially now when we have an ‘outdoor’ watch face).
While training (cycling, running), it does not bother me too much, but speed/heart rate is less interesting when hiking at least for me…what I want is the possibility to navigate and keep track of the time, weather, sun and defined waypoints or POI (summits, passes…etc).
I can’t find a proper way to do that in my Suunto 9.
Note that I still love the watch

Guess what ? No
Maybe in the future some additional fileds will be added to the custom sport mode

@Cédric-Penalvert Nope (sartoric got there first).
Agreed on all points (altho’ there was another outdoor face already).
It’s apparently an issue of graphics memory limitations.

You can add time to your personalized sport mode, and there is the new S+ “weather” field that has all the info you are looking for.

@Cédric-Penalvert while watch faces are not available during an activity, I think you can still get what you want from your watch.
Navigation and waypoints are available during acticity recording. You can even have data fields with ETA distance to next waypoint, a graphical altitude profile etc. With the new Suunto+ function “outdoor insights” you can keep track of the atmospheric pressure, temperature, sunrise/sunset times etc.
(provided you have the barometer version of the S9)
