Suunto Battery
-
Had my Spartan Sport show the charge icon halfway through a run yesterday. The battery for the first time dropped below 40% when this happened and didn’t record the rest of the run. Plugged it on charge when I got back and it said 38% battery. Has anyone else had this issue before? Cheers

@zacdann10 Hello!
I can say that on my Spartan Trainer I have the same behaviour. The battery indicator shows really strange values.
Also, sometimes, it stops charging on 60%, 80%, or other ‘round’ values. Watch reconnection solves the issue, but not completely. I tried to fully uncharge the watch (and soft/hard reset) and charge them properly - but it does not solve the issue.
P.S. Looks like the Spartans ‘feature’ but I don’t know for sure… -
Did you try to calibrate the battery (full charge/discharge/charge) ?

@sartoric Hello! Yes, I tried that method, but this not solves the issue. I tried, also, to change the different charging sources (my PC USB ports/USB charger), but the result is the same. Battery lives by her own life…
I saw a lot of posts with the same problems that are related to a different Spartan watches - so I can say that we are not alone. -
Hello, same behaviour with my Trainer. I think I remember a post from @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos where he explained that Trainers don’t have a continuous test of battery or something like this so that explains this behavior.
I don’t follow my battery life very closely but I didn’t notice battery drain or whatever, I’m always around 10% or 15% battery for one hour of activity with gps and HR. -

@babychai Ok.Batteries should never reach 100% or overcharge no matter how long you have it to charge it will always stop at 99%.
Trainers have less accurate batteries than the other Spartans. They measure on less precision.
I would not worry neither leave my watch plugged in when it’s 100% nor would I empty it.
Change full and deplete the battery 1nce per month
