Adding Waypoints not working
-
Sorry if this has been covered, I couldn’t find specific advice by searching.
I am trying to add waypoints to a route on SA.
I have added them on an external editor, they are then stripped on import.
I have then added them manually in SA, they are showing on the app but not being transferred to the watch.I have cleared the catch
I have uninstalled and re-installed SA
I have deleted the route from the watch and then re-installed.Am I missing something? I am running Android, latest SA and Beta tester.

Importing a GPX with waypoints has been discussed recently, I will link the post when I find it.
As for adding waypoints in SA, that should also work. Did you transfer the new route with waypoints to your watch, or updated a route that was already on the watch? -

Hi Isazi
I did both, imported with way points, not showing, then added waypoints, which are showing in SA but not on watch. I’ll check the other thread.
I also did a quick route in SA and added way-points (i.e. plotted in SA) and still no waypoints added.

@Audaxjoe Did you use any other waypoint type than “Waypoint”? I have encountered missing waypoints when setting “Building”/“Lake” etc… Using only the “Waypoint” type usually does the trick for me…
-
No I just used the default way point in SA. Nothing fancy. I did re name the Way point that was all.
I have checked the other thread but this does not seem to help as I appear to be following the correct procedure. I have also restarted the watch and reinstalled SA.

@Audaxjoe
And the routes your are created are correct? The preview track on the watch is the same as on the map?
Maybe you are facing the route cache bug, and all you see is always the same route (thus, without WP).
I can’t find again the thread for this bug, sorry, someone may find it -
I have tried clearing the catch and uninstalling. Also I have imported a route and plotted another in SA. All show waypoints in SA but not on watch.

@Audaxjoe can you share the file ?
And what do you mean not shown on the watch ?
-
Remember that there is still the “route update” bug

Sorry for delay in replying @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I was on holiday and forgot all about the issue.
It turns out it was user error. On adding a WayPoint on the track in SA, I expected it to show as a navigation option. So when waypoints showed zero I presumed they were not on the track or device.
I now realise they do not show as separate items, they are part of the track navigation. It is working very well now. And an excellent and much needed addition.

I think many would disagree… Google is your friend.

@Audaxjoe
is it for me ?Anyway … you said that the waypoint count was 0 … but the count you see in the navigation screen is for POI not for Waypoints (that’s basically what generated confusion)
so I just pointed out the typo with a smiley face
