      I have a question…

When I was using my former watch, the suunto traverse amber, I could push on the lower right button to out on the backlight, also during recording/tracking a hike…

At the Suunto 9 Baro, this doesn’t work. Sometimes I can’t see anything on my screen. So who knows how I can turn on the backlight for a minute During recording a hike… .

As Brad said, it’s all in manual that, if you are a new 9 user, i suggest you to read. You will find a lots of usefull things.

For enable touch, just going to exercise, scroll down to options, battery mode, custom, and enable it.

@pcm_smeets if you lock the screen during your hike you can press upper or lower button…

If the backlight is in toggle mode, there doesn’t appear to be any way to turn it off after starting an exercise.

                    Am I missing something?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos @wandern had the same question (well, my wife had and I had to answer) - can’t say it was obvious that to enable tap (touch) in activity I have to set custom battery mode and option within
