@lexterm77 How long do you find the velcro lasts?
I have not taken it off since a pair moons ago when I bought it when it came out.
So far, I am surprised with this level of comfort without any noticeable wear.I have each and every (Compatible to S9B) series of Suunto straps including leather textile all silicone and diving straps (12 with original) and for the comfort this tops them all.
Beside all day use there is very little wear when cycling or trail running. Washing it get rids of dust and sweat.
Wear wise I would rate leather one on the bottom, since first week it had signs of wear at the particular hole where I wear it. But this typical is with all leather bands.
The rest of bands show no signs of wear after a proper toothbrush cleaning. What I did notice though is that since I bought velcro, I stopped switching between bands all together, even on rainy days. It dries quickly as surface area is large and material seems hydrophobic.

If there are people interested, the black velcro strap seems to be available (at least in the Netherlands, I checked only the Dutch website) from Suunto again.

Got it (red loop)! Just arrived! This strap is sooo cool!!! Love it. First impression very positiv. I can’t wait to run with it… Watch feels also way lighter… Sooo comfortable…need more… The lime one is not for sale?
Bravo SUUNTO! More vecro loops…

@mountainChris I ordered a black one, should arrive tomorrow from Finland

@isazi Think you will be satisfied. Such a high quality. I can imagine that this will also improve WHR further. Watch can be adjusted very good… Till now I had the S9 Baro standard strap, wich is a little big for my small wrists… Watch has now only 61 gramms

Back from trail running. Wow. This strap is highly recommended!!! Heart rate improved, for me very reliable and lightweight… for me at the moment no reason for a belt… I do not wear anything else anymore and will order 2 as reserve…
I feel the vibration a little bit better…

@mountainChris I recently got a Suunto 9 with the velcro lime/black strap. I thought I’d prefer a silicone strap so got one in black. Having tried both the velcro strap is so much better, WHR seems spot on, really comfortable when running and far less bounce than with the silicone. Only worry about the velcro strap is getting it dirty!

How is your experience with textile strap (https://www.suunto.com/pt-pt/Products/Straps/suunto-24mm-athletic-6-loop-textile-strap/suunto-24mm-athletic-6-loop-textile-strap-black-size-m/). Is confortable? Improves HR wrist experience? What is your sincere feeling?

@mountainChris so far I love it, basically swapping it between S7 and S9

I want orange, blue, cyan, to match with my gear. They would sell like hot cakes.

@Luís-Pinto I think it’s far better for exercise - it’s more secure and seems to give good WHR readings. It does need to be kept clean though and living in Scotland where everything ends up covered in mud at some point or another that is my main concern. I do prefer it to the silicone.

Textile strap, red. Breathable, to a point.
Great strap, i recently bought black one and it became my favorite. Main advantage is (1) quite reliable OHR readings For running, swimming in the pool and open water. Additionally it feels like (2)nothing on your wrist, my S9B Titanium Weight gets lighter As per feelings. And (3) it is very easy adjustable and keeps the position( no slips) on the wrist even for hard workouts.
In the shop i heard that these velcro straps could be Also purchased in lime color additionally to red and black.
I would surely recommend this strap. -
Just bought one of these for my S9B Gold

Hi everyone, I know this is a old post but maybe someone will answer (and my question is clearly on this topic). I recently got a S9 Baro. I have small wrists and, seeing what has been said here, I’d like to know if someone here know where I could buy velcro straps ? They don’t seems available anywhere, is it a temporary out of stock or Suunto does not sell them anymore ?
Regarding the alternative in silicone (https://www.suunto.com/fr-fr/Produits/Bracelets/bracelet-en-silicone-24mm-suunto-athletic-1/bracelet-silicone-white-steel-24mm-suunto-athletic-1-taille-sm/), what do you think of it ? Is it still better for OHR precision and wrist stability than the default S9 Baro strap (with fixed angle) ?
Thanks !

What do you mean ?
Did you check here ? :https://www.suunto.com/en-gb/Products/Straps/suunto-24mm-explore-2-textile-strap/suunto-24mm-explore-2-textile-strap-black-black-size-ml/
It seems to be better than silicon for someone -
@Tom too bad the velcro straps are not available anymore, they are my favorite straps, and fit very well small wrists.
-
@isazi what a heck? Velcro strap are the best.
-
@sartoric
The default S9 Baro straps have semi-rigid connector to the watch, on small wrists it cannot bend to fit closely the form of the wrist. I think it’s these straps : https://www.suunto.com/fr-fr/Produits/Bracelets/bracelets-suunto-9/bracelet-blanc-pour-suunto-9-baro/
You can see the end of the Athletic 2 straps are longer than Athletic 1 straps.I’ve checked the other textile straps but they are quite pricey and it looks like the available sizes (M or L) would not fit my wrist (they said minimum is 120mm, my wrists are 160mm). I don’t know if this information is reliable though.

@isazi do you know if silicone straps Athletic 1 or textile straps could do the trick regarding small wrists ? Are they a good substitute ?
