Suunto 9 BARO not saving last settings in sport mode.
-
The watch does not save the last setting in sport mode. I want to turn off the heart rate measurement from my wrist and turn on the chest strap in the sensors. During the next training, I have to turn on the chest belt search again in the settings.
-
@Martin-Tuharský That is by design, you do not need to turn off wrist HR, if the strap is there the watch will use the belt and not wrist HR
-
Thank you for answer. I need the chest strap search always on and when I don’t have it so that my heart rate isn’t measured at all. If I turn on the chest strap search, this option is turned off again during the next workout.
-
@Martin-Tuharský you don’t actually need to play with the configuration. If your S9 is connected with a chest strap, and that happens automatically if they are paired and the chest strap is on, it will use that one. If you want OHR, don’t wear the chest strap. If you don’t want anything, do not wear the strap, plus disable the OHR from the settings.

@isazi I’ll try again with the pictures.
Number one.
I will select the sports mode.
Number two.
She is not looking for a chest strap.
Number three.
The wrist pulse is turned off. That’s how I want to leave. This is fine.
Number four.
For sensors, the chest strap search is switched off.
Number five.
I’ll turn it on.
Number six.
She is looking for a chest strap.
After the end of the activity during the next training, the search for the chest strap is switched off again. -
@Martin-Tuharský
go to the menu, settings, connectivity, pair sensor and your watch should remember your chest belt -
I have a question and probably know the answer…I haven’t tested.
If you use chest belt and leave OHR ON, will it drain battery more with that setting than OHR OFF?
I turn it off always. I don’t know if the green LEDs turn on then, probably not. -
@Cuba1hr
what’s your guess??
spoiler alarm: it uses less battery… it also shows the estimated left battery runtime -
That’s why: “(…) probably know the answer.”
-
@Cuba1hr @TELE-HO @Martin-Tuharský correct, it will use more battery to leave OHR on. However, there are a couple of bugs IF you turn OHR off. 1. Progress bar for target distance an duration will not work. 2. SuuntoPlus summary after exercise will not be displayed. So, your choice. These should get fixed with the next update, hopefully.
-
@TELE-HO @Martin-Tuharský you will not have to pair the belt again. It is remembered and if on your chest will override OHR. Hope that makes it clear.

I saw that, on YT video posted here on forum. I will test that with and without OHR…and get the same result:)
Next update, hopefully, that’s all we have. -

@Cuba1hr @TELE-HO @Martin-Tuharský correct, it will use more battery to leave OHR on.
Why would that be?
If the LEDs don’t light up since a chest belt is connected, why would just the setting of optionally use the WHR make a difference in battery consumption?! -
@Martin-Tuharský I don’t have to do all that, my chest hr monitor and stryd connect automatically.
