Spartan and CABLE
-
Hi,
I have a question concerning SSU and Bluetooth device management. I tried to get following combination for indoord cycling to work:
- Tacx Neo (ANT+ speed Sensor)
- Garmin Vector 2 (ANT+ power and cadence)
- Wahoo Tickr (ANT+ HRM)
All devices are properly connected to an NPE CABLE ANT+ to BLE transmitter. which converts ANT signals to BLE. The combination works for different BLE receiving devices, e.g. Zwift on Apple TV:
- HR Sensor (Heart rate)
- Bike POD (Cycling speed and cadence)
- Power POD (Cycling power)
However, when I try to use this combination on my SSU, it is not possible to connect all devices. At least one device does not connect (it does not stop “blinking” when starting a sport mode.
It seems that this problem can be confirmed also on other Spartan Ultras. Does anyone have any experience with NPE CABLE on a Spartan?
Thank you and best regards,

@gerold I think is because you are using two signals in BT, the trainer and the pedals.
I use cable to convert ant+ to BT but I choose always the Neo as the source of power, cadence, controllable trainer and speed.
What do you want? Connect to zwift or to connect to the trainer?

@Bulkan Thank you very much for your reply!
I’d like to use my Spartan just for recording my training data, i.e. the Neo is controlled by the Apple TV (Rouvy) which gets its data from the Neo via BLE. It’s also connected to a Wahoo Tickr HRM via BLE.
I have configured the CABLE such that there are three BLE devices visible: a) the HRM device (from Wahoo Tickr/ANT), b) Cycling Power (from Garmin Vector), and c) Speed/Cadence (from Tacx Neo ANT).
All other devices (e.g. Wahoo configuration utility) recognize all three devices and show values; SSU randomly connects only to one or two devices, never to all three.
