Elevation Gain
-
After doing several rides using my Suunto 9 and my partner using her strava or her garmin the total elevation gain on my Suunto is exactly half of that in Strava and Garmin . Why is the watch not registering the correct total elevation gain over the course of a ride or run?

Do you have a Baro version ?
Did you try a search in the forum ?

This post may answer your question:

If you have a non-baro model and your route is only mildly hilly, that 7m threshold may mean your elevation data bears little resemblance to reality.

@sartoric Fair enough. For the benefit of the OP, the other thread is here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/3886/dodgy-elevation-on-spartan-sport-whr?page=1
I wouldn’t call discussion “ongoing” exactly, since neither thread seems to have had traffic since early February, but I agree it’d be better not to have the discussion sprawl across multiple different threads.
