Re: [Feature Request S9]: Integrate VO2max into watch

Now that things have changed a lot and there is more need for virtual training, I have a feature suggestion.

Not sure if this could be implemented through SuuntoPlus or as a workout type, but would be nice to be able to have virtual workouts? Not just to get watch connected to power meter, cadence and speed sensor, but to actually utilize third party services for virtual training.

I’m not sure how Garmin implementation with Zwift (for example) works.

At the moment I start virtual rides on both Zwift normally and on S9 as indoor cycling in parallel. Since S9 and my phone/laptop cannot both connect to trainer through BTE same time, S9 records only heart rate from wrist. I need to wear additional BTE HRM to get heart rate to Zwift too. Then I have to delete the indoor cycling from Strava so there is no duplicate workout there. I want to keep the one from Swift, since it has power, speed and GPS. I need to have the indoor cycling on watch to get recovery time from S9 and so on.

      So it’s all too complicated.

      Other things already mentioned:

+1 Would be nice to get back light on with tap to the screen during workout.

And +1 to screen lock as well.

      Thank you,

      -Tapio

Hi, I use S9 with indoor/virtual cycling too. I have Polar H10, so I can record my HR to PC (I prefer Rouvy to Zwift) via ANT+ and to S9 via Bluetooth. When I end workout, I first upload it from Rouvy to Strava, then finish it on S9 - when it is synced to Suunto App, then it is not uploaded to Strava (duplicate). I just edit distance in Suunto App. This way I have recovery time and worokut time on watch and in app.

Also I use QS, so I upload FIT file manually and delete automatically synced from SA. It would be great if things could be simplified, I agree. If S9 could record distance from my smart trainer…

I have a little advice. I am using the Rouvy with Elite Suito trainer for my indoor cycling. I connect Suunto Smart Sensor with my laptop so that all workou parameters are on Rouvy. After finished workout it is synchornized with Strava and then manually add through mold SportTracks web page to SuuntoApp.

What I have noticed is that the workout is not take into account by Suunto App into daily summary. For example I have made a 1-hour workout spending around 800 kcal, measured my heart rate but this is completely not included to summary for that day.

I would be great to have that also included into summary.

How do you transfer from Strava to SuuntoApp exactly? 🤔

@mff73 Through sports-tracker.com. It does have an import feature of GPX. The imported workout shows up on Suunto App as looks that this is the same DB 🙂

@bartula it’s the same DB but you lose data. Better to import straight into SA via quantified-self.io (and probably other services in the future, given the API is there).

Thanks. I did not know that I can upload workout from Quantified-self.io.

@bartula it’s kind of a new feature, probably less than few months old.

@bartula I’m using quantified-self too. Since last post, you can upload fit file to SA. So I delete my indoor cycling activity in SA and upload fit from Rouvy.
