Suunto 5 - lock button
-
Hello,
I can’t lock my Suunto 5: long press on the bottom right button don’t seems to work… Am i the only one experienced this?
Last firmware installed
Thx -
@Benoit-FORGEARD I don’t know if the Suunto 5 works exactly the same as the S9, but then it is only possible to lock the watch manually if you started an activity.
If you are in watch mode you have to wait one minute before the watch locks itself. Highly annoying if you like watersports but overall it works ok.

@Benoit-FORGEARD
try this: go to a SPA whirlpool and let’s say you see in your screen the battery level but your spouse would like to know when the sun goes down. You change from battery level to sundown. after than you notice your watch gets the mad cow disease when the blubbling water hit the screen.
Checkout the people around you staring at you while you wipe the screen and stretch your arm to the sky, waiting for the watch to lock again… true story!

@Benoit-FORGEARD is talking about the S5 which doesn’t have touchscreen and has 5 buttons.
I understand that he was able to lock the watch with the button but he can’t now.
First of all I would try a soft reset (I do not know the combination of buttons for the S5 I own a S9B where you have to push the upper button for 12-15 seconds, maybe is the same in the S5). If this doesn’t work someone with a S5 should come and help.

@cosmecosta
S5 has lockbutton in watch mode?! awesome!! -
@TELE-HO I do not really know but could be!! As Ambits has…
I know you are sensible regarding locking buttons… -
@cosmecosta
I’m not sensible about lock buttons, I just WANT them -
@cosmecosta
…if Suunto is not able to get a lock button in watch mode for the S9 I am also fine with either finger print unlock or face detection… I leave the decision up to them -

@TELE-HO @surfboomerang Claim you’re training for solo synchronised swimming. Now you just need the sports mode.
