SSSWHRBaro, SA and altitude issue

I went through some logged activities of indoor climbing and noticed that the altitude is going crazy in every single case. Example:
We are talking about gym with flat floor and climbing walls. In other words I start and end at the same altitude. I don’t use GPS here as there is no point (can’t even get signal inside of some gyms). For some reason the altitude goes up or down over time. Is it app problem? Watch issue? It makes altitude and ascent data useless.

@jsr184 The altitude comes from the barometer that continues to work even indoors. The altitude change comes from the pressure drift due to weather change.
Whether or not that makes sense for an indoor activity - that’s another question. I know that my Suunto 9 Baro measures altitude changes even for a regular strength training activity in a gym - the app just doesn’t show the altitude graph but activity still has ascent and descent that I can see when I export the FIT file.
The previous generation of Suunto watches had different barometer profiles for different sports - Alti, Baro, and Auto. I guess Suunto decided that was too complex so all sports now seem to have Alti profile whether that makes sense or not.

@silentvoyager but I see altitude graph. The problem is that the altitude keeps increasing or decreasing over time quite a lot while being inside of indoor gym. I have my GPS off in the power saving options so only barometer is used here. I don’t think air pressure indoor changes so much to indicate an increase of the altitude by 50m (one of the cases). The small spikes on the graph are single climbs but all of it should start more or less from the same ground level. If it was a single case I wouldn’t bother but I see that every time I use only barometer. Not sure if it’s expected or real issue. End of this year probably will be end of Suunto for me, too

As you can see from your picture, you are measuring distance, therefore your watch assumes you’re moving.

Coincidentally I was just researching yesterday how much elevation can change due to normal weather patterns pressure change. Apparently, under normal weather patterns the pressure can change 0.1-0.2 kPa per hour which corresponds to 8-16 meters per hour. But 0.4 kPa per hour is not out of ordinary too, which means up to 32 meters per hour. How long was your activity?
But it possible that the altitude is changed by FusedAlti. One way to find is to export this activity and look at Sea level pressure graph. If it is changing, that means the altimeter gets continuously recalibrated by FusedAlti.
