Ambit 3 peak and Suunto 9 gps stats different on same route

GPS data collected for same route different between new suunto 9 and new ambit 3 peak. Both are using default settings and both have the latest software updates. On a confirmed 15 mile route the ambit 3 peak mileage is always 1 mile more than the suunto 9. How is this posssible? How can this be fixed?
