Future S9 firmware wishlist summary

@g287-sf
it’s the track of points that you can see when you flip thru the screens… -
@g287-sf The dots you leave behind you on the “map” screen. From people wandering into the woods leaving a trail of literal breadcrumbs to find their way out. Or clumsy schnitzel fans.
“Piste de navigation” or “fil d’Ariane”[??] crop up in translation. “Petit Poucet” in the Manual.

@fenr1r thank you i understand !
-
@g287-sf
Well, in fact it isn’t really wrong -
@sartoric
yes it is also the itchy stuff when you eat cookies in bed -
@freeheeler As ever, terminological accuracy is crucial: those are cookie crumbs. Or possibly small toenail clippings.

@stromdiddily It’s a way to say it!

I used the Suunto Plus ‘Climb’ feature the other day. Thought it was great until it started resetting back to zero after each climb - and sometimes it wasn’t even on a climb, it just randomly went back to zero. It’s functioning kind of like an autolap but I’d really like the option to disable that so all of the data that you see is cumalative/total
I like the data that’s provided but the constant resets and the watch annoyingly alerting me when it does so (15 times on a 60min run) makes it a bit of a fizzer, for me at least
-
@miniforklift
sounds like a new “feature” within the feature. When I used climb some time ago there was no reset. Is the summary of the totals correct then? -
@miniforklift doesn’t it start a new climb for every ascent/descent?
I also have only used it once to avoid the buzz plus the reset of the lap metrics on other screens
-
I can’t remember, I’ll have to try it again and see. It’s just really distracting the amount of times it restarts, I’m sure some of them happened midway through a climb

That’s probably what’s meant to happen. But would be perfect if you could toggle that on or off and just be able to let it run. There’s some really interesting data fields in there, even more interesting to look at after you’ve been in the hills for a number of hours

Agreed, would be super cool if it followed the auto lap toggle!

Guys have you ever think, it’s possible we don’t have anymore updates ? And we talk about features who never arrived ?
-
@g287-sf totally possible, but I like my S9 as it is to be honest. If I get new functionalities I’ll be happy, but I am already happy using it.
EDIT: meaning I bought it for the functionalities it had back in 2019, got a lot more with updates after. I didn’t buy it knowing it would get more functionalities though

And we talk about features who never arrived ?
Of course: such is the nature of people, internet wishlists and life.
it’s possible we don’t have anymore updates ?
Possible, sure.
-
@isazi Totally agree with you. I did buy the watch because of the functionality at that time.
Not expecting new feature through updates, although very very welcome if new features keep coming through future updates (Suunto are you reading this? )
I did however bought the watch with the idea that the existing functionality will be improved with updates for a specific amount of time. For instance bug fixes, performance improvements and GPS firmware updates. At least for a couple of years.
The question remains when will improvements of existing functionality become new functionality? I think those are the most debated subjects.
What if there is new functionality in the next Suunto watch that could be delivered to the existing ones but Suunto decide they won’t? I think we see a lot of complains in this forum. But to be honest… we bought our current watch with the functionality at that time. Suunto doesn’t have to deliver everything to every watch. It’s up to them if they want to do that or not.
