You are absolute right. Thats why it should be configurable to the needs of each run / customer. The zone ring is good and I use it, but I have to look on watch. Especially often at the end of very long HR2 runs…

@Likarnik Exactly. I do trail and flat long runs. And I think a lot of people. Why only fulfill the needs of one group, if it is so easy to implement a setting for this…

I find both alarm and vibration could be more recognizable.
Especially for running in HR Zones. Sometimes it is not noticeable (depending on conditions I’m running).
If vibration motor can not got harder, I would like to adjust a longer vibration time.

Same for alarm. There should be a continuous sound. Not only once…
I would also like to adjust these settings only for training (sound is always off / training always on).This would be not so hard to do from software point, but I think a big thing for training feeling.
It is not so relaxed, if go on the long run in HR Zone 2 and have to look very often on watch, if you are still in.
I remember 20 years ago, my first HR watch from polar, which had a continuous alarm, if you were out of zone.
The long run is much more deep, if you do not have to look so often on watch.
Please Suunto, this is essential for training.I absolutely do not want a continuous alarm when I go out of HR zone. I think it is perfect the way it is implemented. If you use the zone ring it is immediately obvious what zone you are in. When trail running it would be incredibly annoying to have the alarm continuously going off. Sorry but while doing long trail runs I often go above zone on uphills and below zone on downhills. It is impossible to keep in a high zone on technical down hill trails.
The current alarm is one great option, but it’s awfully hard to hear sometimes. My ears are becoming attuned to hearing the sound, but even so the song of a redwing blackbird can pull me a little bit, thinking I’ve left a zone. It would be nice to have a few more options, or maybe allowing users to individualize a little more how they are alerted through the zones. I don’t know if it’s even an option, but an app would be welcome that adds functionality through iPhone or Android for volume, alarm options, &c. If the phone could send beeps through my iPhone, problem solved for me.

I gave up and bought the Polar H10 heart monitor. On my Suunto Baro 9, I just could not hear the beeps or feel the vibration on my runs with sounds from people and nature. It was just incredibly difficult and irritating try to stay in the zone having to constantly check my watch for my heartbeat reading. I would certainly defy anyone to say they can hear/feel the alerts when running on gravel-type or off-road surfaces!
So I’m deeply disappointed that I have to pay the extra $90 and wear extra equipment on runs.
I love everything about the Suunto Baro 9 except this. I’ve owned Suuntos for many years, from the X9 onward.

That is why I use the zones screen , and prefer to peak when running.

By entering new sport modes in my watch, I have just noticed an astonishing adjustment if we use a belt: concerning HR we can deactivate the handle and belt sensors at the same time but if we use a belt we must systematically deactivate the wrist HR sensor to gain autonomy.
I don’t see the possibility of deactivating the wrist HR “continuously” (if you always use a HR per belt)… -
@Rob33 the OHR shuts off if you use a belt, without any need to toggle the option in the menu.

@isazi Ah OK! I don’t see… In my seat, there was a difference of 6 hours but I did not “turn on” the belt.

@Rob33 of you see the belt icon go green, you’re using the belt. If you see just the heart, without belt, then it’s the ohr.

Hello to everybody
I will be very happy when the firmware will support in cycling mode multiple sensor for speed and cadence. Now the last generation of sensors it’s without magnet, and comes in two different sensor with each a bluetooth connection.
Currently the only solution (in addition to the use of an old concept sensor that integrates both speed and cadence) is to use only the cadence sensor (in the only Bluetooth connection available for a bike POD) and for the speed to use the GPS. However, it is not an optimal solution for a high-level GPS such as Suunto 9.Another thing, which has nothing to do with the firmware, but which would be of great help is to update the Suunto bike POD with one of the latest generation …

With respect, there are regions and conditions where the watch shows notably worse results than a known position on a map and/or the occasional elevation marker immediately in front of the user. The satellite angles and/or weather may particularly screw one or both of the watch’s not-exactly-precise-in-the-vertical sensors that day. The area might be particularly well-surveyed, with sub-metre accuracy on elevation.
The Alti should Fuse GNSS, barometer AND known elevation, if told to. Hopefully the corrective would be incorporated if constant. E.g., if FusedAlti gets three up/down consistent corrections to user-known altitude, it applies a sensor-imprecision-humility fix to future estimations until corrected again.

To make that work the way you said: when is it the best to make this correction.
- in the watchface at the height widget?
- before an activity?
- after activity was started?

Not quite sure about “the weight widget” but I would have the facility available at all times:
Outside activities (to provide reference for the barometer); within Navigation (and applied to any POIs created therein); and within Exercise (using Pause, perhaps, so that you don’t have to stop recording … tedious). Quickest shortcut access whichever way.
It obviously isn’t essential for stats on relative elevation/gain loss per move but if you’re using altitude as a navigation tool AND recording a track …

No: you raised the crucial point originally … does the watch compensate for the average viewing elevation of a watch relative to the individual height entered in the personal stats? Forget the Digital Transition Blues: this could be the scandal that brings Suunto down!

I suggest hold down lower button 5s to turn on whitest possible light like Transverse Alpha.
Possible uses: not stubbing your toe while going to bathroom at night can improve running performance next day.
