SSWHRBaro and display wake on wrist turn

@jsr184 I guess I am not clear on this. Do you want this for normal wear during the day? Or, when exercising? Not clear on why you are using powersaving mode during normal wear. The battery has a reasonable life and would only need charging every few days. I turn on DND when I do not want to be disturbed but to be honest, I don’t use power saving mode.
-
@Brad_Olwin my battery doesn’t last that long Without power-saving I need to charge it every 2 days. The thing is you wouldn’t want it as a regular hardware feature and I would want it as I used to use it before and never had issues. The solution is what Garmin did - an option a user can toggle when needed. I have a feeling that you are trying to get me to justify the need for that feature and the same time trying to prove that it’s not needed because you don’t need it (this is how I read you, I may be wrong). All I wanted to know was whether the watch has that feature or not as I wasn’t sure It’s not there so I know I didn’t miss anything in the manual.

Not related to backlight, but how many activity do you record in 2 days ? GPS ?
Have you tried to re-calibrate battery ?I usually need to recharge it every 3 days
-
@sartoric usually, I record non-GPS activities (indoor climbing - longer 3-5 hours, gym - up to 1hr), my GPS-based activities (runs - usually 1hr long, cycling - from 1-3hr long) are rather short and not so frequent. How do you re-calibrate the battery?
-
@jsr184
Let it discharge completely, then charge it to 100% and (not really necessary) keep it connected for a while after it. -
@jsr184 OK, I get this but your battery should last much longer. I do outdoor exercises 4 of 5 weekdays and indoor as well of ~1h each. My battery lasts 3-4d so this seems very short. I would consider recalibrating as suggested.

Yes … But you are a rich guy with an S9
-
@sartoric @Brad_Olwin he also has a S5.
I have a SSSW, and never use Power Saving options or DND. More than 2 years and battery performs better. I would recommend you recalibration.

I had SSWHR non-baro for 1 year and used it a lot. The battery life was not nearly as short as yours and my statement was for that watch. I would use it all week and the SSU on weekends.

I am going to recalibrate the battery but it was very busy and active weekend and I couldn’t let it discharge fully yet.
