Watch did not record Distance, Speed, GPS Map, etc. Only HR
-
I’m not sure what I’m missing, but my last mtn bike ONLY recorded HR. There is no distance, speed, GPS map, nothing but HR. This is my 1st ride since purchasing the watch. I did two test rides (3 miles) and those worked fine. My latest on, 27 miles did not record. SOOO disappointed in this watch so far. So many other issues too. See other posts.
Can anyone help with this issue?

@nelslynn
Be sure the gps icon become green before starting the move -
Thank zharg965, I should have mentioned that both the HR and GPS icon were green before starting. The HR usually takes longer to turn green, yet that was the only data recorded.

We saw a couple of cases like this, but I don’t know the root cause.
Did you upgraded your firmware before the move without gps?

When you bought a suunto, it’s meaning you joined a big beta testing program, they should mention it on the box

@nelslynn
Did you try a soft reset ? -
Thanks for all the help. My ride today worked, the watch recorded the route. I believe the only thing I changed was I turned Power Savings off. I’ll have to experiment a bit more, but I hope you don’t have to turn power savings off before you can map a ride.

@zhang965 said in Watch did not record Distance, Speed, GPS Map, etc. Only HR:
they should mention it on the box
and offer early adapter discount…

@nelslynn which power saving ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Settings > General > Power Savings
“ON” -> mapping might not work? (need to test this further)
“OFF” -> mapping worked. -
@nelslynn we had this issue in the past and it was fixed. Probably its back this nasty bug
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
So what’s the bug? Mapping should work with Power Savings ON or OFF?Is there another way to get my watch to stop flashing Green (I assume this is the HR monitor) without turning Power Saving off?
-
@nelslynn just don’t turn on power saving or do test if power saving does not record GPS. IF you want to test go ahead but for normal runs dont turn power saving on. I need to check this when home. Perhaps someone else can already.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
BUT, if I turn power savings OFF, there is this annoying green flashing light as my watch sits on my bed stand and the whole room lights up (sorry can’t sleep with that). Do I really need to remember to turn Power Savings off every time I go for a ride? If so, this watch is not going to work for me. It’s really too bad that such a beautiful watch has so many shortcomings with the software. Sooo bummed.The backlight is another issue, but I’m still researching how to deal with that.

@nelslynn
Are you using 24/7 monitoring ?
Because if you’re not you can disable it and the “green light” will be turned off -
@sartoric
Thanks, that did it. -
By following your logic, you can only turn on power saving while sleeping right?
Do you need record distance while sleeping? -
@nelslynn Hi I did not say that this is the rule. I kinda asked if that can be the case for the missing track. I am looking into this issue further.
