S9 Baro takes very long to find GPS signal before a move
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel This is how it looks on the watch.
-
@Richard-Thygesen I’ve just called Suunto support and gone through a factory reset with them. Seems to ok again now fingers crossed
-
@Phil-Powell Perhaps a hard reset is all that is left to do for me also.
-
Let me help. If you are on latest software it will show processing once the sync is done.
I am suspecting that sony has issues with updating the agps. Reporting this.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos on the app is says optimizing GPS after syncing activities and resources etc. It takes a fairly long time and when its done I see a green check mark. It does this every sync. I think it only did the optimizing GPS once a day before this issue occurd.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos now I have the newest A-GPS file. Not sure if it is related but after changing the setting to GPS only an syncing I got the file.
-
@Richard-Thygesen This happened to me as well a couple of days ago. Did the same as Richard Thygesen. Changed to gps only and Agps updated almost directly.
-
@helgonet12 how do you change to gps only. Is it the gps qzs ?
-
@Phil-Powell yes thats the one, GPS+ qzss
-
@Richard-Thygesen that’s what mine was already set on. Since doing the factory reset it seems to be working 100% quicker/better so far
-
@Phil-Powell I meant GPS+ qzss sorry.
-
Just an update. It seems to work after changing to GPS only. I got the new a-GPS file this morning.
-
Well now I don’t get the newest A-GPS file again. This is annoying. I’m out of ideas. Has anyone found a solution?
-
@Richard-Thygesen yesterday there were issues with Sony distributing the AGPS files, maybe related.
-
I got it yesterday and then did a soft rest after @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos wrote us to do that and after the soft restart I got the file directly after syncing with SA app. Today I didn’t get the new file. I’ll wait a couple of hours and see what happens.
-
@Richard-Thygesen I didn’t get the file either, and there are other people complaining so it is most probably related.
-
I don’t have AGPS too. Did a cold start, it took around 30 seconds and then the GPS seemed ok (tested it only via POI navigation for a while).
Also, I did a soft-reset yesterday which went as usual and did it today too as I’ve seen no AGPS despite SA sync and an hour or so later it was still N/A. This time after soft-reset the watch displayed a low-battery indicator and didn’t restart until I connected it to the charger, weird as it had ~40% of battery left.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel let it be without agps.
Maybe it’s better for now. If I understand correctly it’s a sony fuckups on the predictions. It just will take time to find gps at first run.
Let it outside on the balcony etc for a while and then go for a run.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos sure, no problem on my side. Just reporting my findings. I’m impressed that cold start was in around 30s anyway.

So since calling Suunto and going through a factory reset on the phone with them 5 days ago, the watch worked perfectly until today when the display went completely blank again, it synced with the app fine but took a soft reset to get the display back. This is the 4/5th time since I purchased the watch at the beginning of December. Showing assisted gps not available again to.
