Strava export not correctly recording pauses

@Šón-Čestr said in Strava export not correctly recording pauses:
I understand that the points are exported during the pause that is why I bet strava shows the dip. Its rather a visual representation of the data that is wrong. If you see it shows you crossing the light on the map.
That said you would prefer those not to happen?
Great pace

Thanks, @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos . I’m not sure it’s just a visual representation though. Here’s another example from today, where I had long pauses (watch was stopped) on the warm-up to do stretches and drills: https://www.strava.com/activities/2405384083/overview
You can see that the 5’th kilometre was apparently over eleven minutes.
The data never looked like this when it was synced from Movescount: the paused data was filtered out (as it is in Suunto App for these activities) so that the kilometre splits showed only “active” time and the pace graph was properly zoomed in on the true pace range. The only difference is that now the data is coming from Suunto App instead of from Movescount…

The problem is it throws away the useful data. If I get stuck at a light I don’t want it to throw off my data for the entire run. Especially considering that the analysis on the in house app is USELESS

I have reported this
-
I’ve got same problem when using pool swimming. My watches Spartan Sport Wrist HR shows overall training time and swimming activity time. Suunto app got training results using overall training time with all pauses between swimming intervals. But when data transvered to Strava it shown results using only activity time which is more true. Thats way pace time of training in Suunto app is more that 30% like actual.

Thanks, @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos !

I have the same Problem! At the moment its not possible to analyse the training!
With movescount and my ambit 2 it was easier! -
Hi can I have a link to strava and a link of Suunto app to compare?
-
-
@GD628 thanks.
We work on both issues and we might have a solution. I bet if not friday (not recommended) then next week this will be fixed for you. -
Hi Dimitrios,
I have the exact same problem. I’m running with a group and at km 4 we paused and did some drills. Now my strava shows 28:44 on km 4.
I paused it several times when waiting to start the new intervals so actually all my data looks off.

This is not a single event… This is something that always happens. You are saying in your last post that you might have a solution. Does that mean a general fix for everybody? Or just for the OP?
Kind regards
-
@D-Schilderman your issue will be fixed exactly. You talk about splits that are auto generated by Strava right ?
-
I’m not sure what your definition is for a split.
I’m using the new suunto app and its paired to send my files to strava. My problem is that strava calculates my time per kilometer with a weird algorithm.
For example:- I run 3 km at a 5min/km pace.
- I manually pause for 15 mins to do some stretches/drills
- I then unpause my run and commence my pace at 5min/km pace.
When i finish my run and my file is exported to strava and it shows
- 3x1km with 5min/km pace
- 1km with 20min/km pace
- rest of my run with 5min/pace.
I have not used any interval or whatever setting so far.
What I want is that strava only shows my time that I’ve run. I’ve used a garmin before and it never had this problem.
-
@D-Schilderman yes that is what I refer to. Check the web of strava. Has splits and laps.
Laps are currently 100% match to the watch but splits is your problem -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Yes, but most people who accept an app only SA, use only the app version of Strava. Is this something on the works to be fixed?
*disclaimer I dont use app Strava but some of my friends do and I think they have only splits there and not laps -
@Yannis-Belouris on the mobile app there are laps and splits as well.
Splits are autogenerated laps from Strava.
Laps are the laps (auto, distance, interval etc) that the watch creates. What should we fix about that? That is how strava works. And I dont understand why one using SA has to only use the Strava mobile app. This makes no sense.
-
Ok, this way let me understand when i got some interval training and watches show me intervals of swimming and i didnt pushing any pause buttons during that, why Suunto App show me pace/min using idle time when i’m resting and not moving/swimming? I mean pool swim training, not open water when GPS positioning is operation.
BUT when data trasferred to Strava everything OK and i found actual true pace.

@Yurgo Do you have the latest verion of the app? The pace should be fine there. Else please create a new thread so I can scope and help there
