@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos yes I know you can change data fields from the options in SA. But what about naming your own? Now you are doing a ski run of a certain difficulty, don’t you want to mark it in the data? Now you are climbing a route of a certain difficulty… Etc.
I find that most sport modes as they are now could be reduced to maybe 10 activities or less.
Boxing and martial arts? Yoga and stretching?
      Etc, etc…
If suunto is not going the app way, and it seems its not, then it should invest more in differentiating different activities.

Hmmm, I do Pilates and wish it wasn’t combined with Yoga but I am glad it is there. I wish there was TRX as that is different than Pilates so I just label TRX with Pilates…I disagree with you. Yoga and Stretching are very different.

@Brad_Olwin yes, I know yoga and stretching are different activities… As someone that does both!
But like you just said, it is mainly a text tag. If you do pilates, for instance, you cannot align the hr data with the sequence you are performing because you cannot input those sequences (or yoga pose sequences).

Sorry but I completly disagree. Yoga has different fields from Stretching or circuit trainning.

Also trailrunning has ascent and running cadence.

Not all poeple customize their sport modes that is what the basics are there under other.

You can name your custom trailrun mode as you wish , noone stops you.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I wasn’t talking about ‘naming a custom sport mode’, but naming tags within each sport. I gave numerous examples above, if no one here gets it I give up… So tag ski run level, with start/stop option, like intervals, climb level, start/stop, etc…

Currently all sports have the same data field options. Does yoga have naming yoga sequences? Doing a custom yoga workout based on sequences I name and then activating like intervals? No. So what makes it different than stretching?

@Droro To be honest I dont understand your point. You are mixing it a bit but please help me understand.

Lets take 2 sports that you think are close or the same and what should be change or what is your proposal. Please if possible describe it in detail or how the user uses it (user story)

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos OK. It doesn’t matter if the sports are the same. The feature will be in SA as part of sport mode customization, and will be the same generic solution for all sports.Let’s say you want to do yoga, the feature can be like a data field which accepts a sequence of names. Each name is simply an interval. That’s all. Next when you start yoga, the intervals you defined instruct you which poses to do and for how long (as intervals accept time definition). The sequences you named will appear in the post workout analysis together with hr.
For climbing for instance, you need something similar only as named laps since you don’t know how long a route will take. So you start climbing, then choose a lap name which is the difficulty of the climb, when you end or fall of you end the lap. Then in post workout you see the difficulty of each climb as lap names, with hr for each lap (route) etc… Very useful to see improvement over time.
Plus, with this solution and a tags feature you can filter to see how many yoga poses of a certain type (I.E downward dog etc…) you did this month or how many routes of a certain difficulty you did, and that enables to see your improvement in each sport over time.
Garmin implements all this through user apps, but here is a generic solution for multiple sports suunto can implement (with some work and money investment for sure). If you see a simpler solution for this I would like to hear. Hope it makes sense.

@Droro Got it clear! Yes this sounds like a good feature. Also for circuit training etc.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I don’t know how to name it exactly, but if you think it’s a good idea pls pass it on. Good day.
