@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I notice you’ve used present rather than past tense here, so I’ll hold on hope.

AN extra wish for S9B - can the options for the sport mode be pre-selected? Preferably in the SA, but even they could stay the same from the last activity recorded.

The way it is, one has to go through the entire Options list to set the watch the way one wants.

@mdzott I think most of the options have no reason to be remembered, and it’s best to set them when necessary, otherwise the issue will be that every time you have to reset everything.
And some options, e.g. automatic laps and sensors, are already remembered.

@isazi HR setting should be remembered per activity. Now it is not remembered. It is really energy saving.
It happened to me several times to forget to switch it off when going stand up paddling. This is kind of activity on the sea where I do not need HR at all, but battery duration might be potentially very important.

@freeheeler indeed. I’m all of a do-dah: continue trying to sell my S9B in anticipation of buying the new one whilst it’s still the current model; or await the fabled March update and all its potential goodies…

@isazi The Target is not remembered and (on my watch) is always initially set to 3 km. Why 3? Suunto Plus is not remembered. And as I mentioned the Wrist HR is always on. So, true, only three options to set. But I would prefer to be able to set them from the SA, on a “per activity” basis.

@mdzott I use different targets and different S+ basically every day, so I don’t see why I would want to have the watch remember them.

@mdzott anyway something strange with your target. The default is not 3km, is no target at all.

@isazi fact is, why you and me as users may have different preferences, Suunto had to take decisions that work in the majority of cases.

If the HR setting was remembered users will probably complain when they forget that the previous time they disabled it, and now they are mid run or whatever and registering no HR.
So for Suunto is probably better to avoid this issue, than to avoid the less common issue of someone that really does not want HR.

@isazi There may well be fewer folk who don’t (usually) want HR but the consequences of unwanted recording can be more severe. If you miss turning on HR for an activity you will lose that stat but return with the rest. If you have it unwanted and unaware you may return with a dead battery and not much in the way of useful stats. Curtailed navigation, too.

Both preferences could be served by a Default HR toggle in Personal settings.

@isazi well, why not? If you want a different target or S+, you would go to settings anyways. And for that seldom case of you keeping the target, you could save yourself time bc watch remembers it. Would maybe be nice if the watch could remember settings adaptively, like this low battery reminder. Like if you use a special target or S+ at a particular time of the week, you would get the settings changed automatically for that activity.

@дима-мельниченко IMHO it is because of the reason I explained, that is Suunto has to optimize for the average case, not for specific cases. So avoiding anything that could bother the user and change his/her data. Already lots of people complained that they had laps when they didn’t want them, because they did not realize that many S+ features are actually generating laps automatically 🙂

So, for a company, it is better safe than sorry.

@дима-мельниченко anyway setting default for customized sports mode in the app would probably be a good idea, given that the new modes are a complete creation of the user and there is no way Suunto can know better 🙂

The Suunto s9 doesn’t record RR intervals of HR, does it?

Is a feature I would like to have, to run in goldencheetah a python graphic which tells you where did you run respect the 0,75 DFA 1.

@freeheeler you can get RR from IBI. Check runalyze and its data regarding HRV produced with Suunto watches.

@fenr1r I usually want HR. I just don’t usually want WRIST HR. I would absolutely love love love if the S9 watch remembered last saved options for each activity. EVERY time I start an run or bike activity I have to go in, disable wrist HR, connect to my HR belt and then start the activity. It would be a huge time saver / increase ease of use.
Same for Suunto+. I think it would make more sense for most users to just remember the last used option.
For the HR issue - I would argue having bad HR data from the wrist HR is a worse option than having no HR data.
