Suunto 9 and Suunto App Sports Mode Customization
-
Hey;
Suunto 9 Baro Black
Latest Suunto App
Latest iOS on iPhone 8I haven’t been able to get the Sports Mode Customization to work on the Suunto App. My watch syncs fine (so no issue with Bluetooth) but when I go to the Sports Mode Customization I get a message “Updating List” and it spins and spins and never completes. Since I moved away from Movecount, this means I have been unable to customize the sports modes.
I’ve been back and forth with Suunto support, and they are now telling me to do a service return on my watch. I am pretty sure the watch isn’t the issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might get this fixed? Or does anyone else use the app to customize the sports modes?
Thank you!

Have you tried a soft reset (press 12 sec upper button) ?
-
Yes, unfortunately. I did all the standard stuff.
- unpaired and repaired phone and watch
- rebooted phone
- soft reset watch
- deleted and re-added the Suunto App.
No difference for any of these. Does it work for anyone?
-
… You’re just missing the hard-reset via cable
-
Do you have the beta or App Store app? The beta is downloaded from TestFlight, not the App Store. This is strange as mine is working fine on iOS iPhone X and S9.
I would hard reset the watch. -
I know this is an old topic but… I’m experiencing exactly the same issue. Tried reinstalling and resetting everything. No luck
-
@ffelagund Did you get your watch working? My watch has developed this same problem. I’ve tried everything except a hard reset.
-
@ldxmsg I got it working with a hard reset, but after a couple weeks the problem came back. I really dont want to perform a hard reset each time I want to customize any sport mode…
-
@ffelagund it should not come back.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos said in Suunto 9 and Suunto App Sports Mode Customization:
@ffelagund it should not come back.
But it did once. It might happen each time. I’d preffer a less disturbing solution.
-
@ffelagund huh? It happened once we fixed it with the next update for your watch (that I suppose you installed)
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Ah, ok. Well, yes It happened to me BEFORE the update. Then I updated the watch a couple of days after, and after some days, the error appeared again (after the patch).
I just hard reset the watch again. Let’s hope the error dissapears forever this time. -
Same here:
Suunto 5 FW 2.14.14

Android 9What I am supposed to do to solve the issue?
Soft/hard reset?
Wait next FW?
Other?Thanks

@lgoso latest firmware update should have solved this for S5. But if you have the issue you need a hard reset.
-
@isazi Hard reset done. Problem solved but now I have the vo2max missing issue (custom running activity).
-
@lgoso it will come back eventually
