My use case and the mobile/web apps
-
Hi,
Have to say I’m getting a little lost and quite frustrated with the current state multiple, partially complete, mobile apps working in conjunction with Movescount web and TrainingPeaks.
I have both an Ambit 2 and Spartan Wrist HR Baro that I use for tracking my running and gym sessions. However, I also use these watches in the backcountry for mountaineering, ice climbing and regular climbing. Here is what I need from the supporting mobile/web apps. Can anyone help me as to the best way to accommodate this please. Thanks in advance.
1: I need to use my laptop to build backcountry routes and store key gps POIs and then ensure they are on my watch. Doing this on an app doesn’t cut it when referencing multiple online sources. Secondarily, editing/tweaking the routes on a mobile app would be great but not essential.
2: I use Training Peaks to manage my training plans and analyse my activities and so need to synch all of the data my watch collects.
3: I have a number of heavily customised exercise modes which I need to manage and synch to my watches.
4: In extended periods in the backcountry, being able to use a mobile app to synch moves from my watch would be very helpful as well as being able to customise activities.
Currently, I’m using the Movescount app and Movescount on web as this allows 1,2 and 3. However, the Movescount mobile app lacks a LOT of functionality (I’m sure once upon a time you could see HR and other data for moves as graphs). The new SA looks great, has more features than the Movescount app and delivers on some of the non-essential (for me) capabilities but I do not want to lose the ability to use the Movescount web app for route creation, exercise mode customisation and synching to TrainingPeaks.
Thoughts? Advice? Many thanks in advance.
