Ocean 2026 Updates Promised, no information after months
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos thank you very much for the update. Hopefully all these features that was mentioned in both info session for Q1 and Q2 gets merged into a single update for the Ocean.
The Ocean is probably Suunto’s best watch based on all my previous models and the fact that Suunto recommended the Ocean above the Vertical 2 and Race 2 for my use case. I just hope that the Software can start matching the product with more regular updates, especially on the sports functions, as I do get that the dive functions need more testing. SO almost having two lines of updates running, This will ensure that regular Ocean sport users are not left behind for months on end. If this could be suggested to Suunto that would be great.
I have reached out to Suunto for helping with testing as well, but never hear anything back from them.
Let’s hope to see improvements at Suunto for the Ocean models soon.
Kind Regards

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos They need to fix the bluetooth disconnection issue with the Smart Heart Rate Belt.
The HRM disconnects consistently 15-30 minutes into an activity and the remainder of the activity goes unrecorded, and the HRM does not sync upon conclusion.
I have more written here: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/14313/suunto-smart-heart-rate-belt-keeps-losing-connection-to-the-watch

@Kevin-Major did you write to suunto support by email?
-
@André-Faria No need to bog them down with another comment. In my previous comment I linked to another section of the forum, and someone replied to the effect of “yeah, they just don’t care.”
-
@Kevin-Major I believe, as msot companies would work, issues when contacted by email would “count more” than posts on the forum…
For sure we have great people that pass the info to them, but I believe if it a serious issue, people should contact by email, also to “force” for a solution.
I believe no brand would like to have a return or warranty claim for something that is software.
support@suunto.com I contacted them last week and I received what I found to be an acceptable answer with envy to debug/know more.Just because one support person answered 1 client saying “you won’t get a fix” it may not the reality.
No company is perfect, no person is perfect, so if your issue is so important that you posted everywhere, maybe send them a mail or call. -

Yes, a random user replied to you saying that they “do not care” and you trust that information as if it was an official response

@isazi So the countless people complaining on this forum and all over the internet that already have a response from suunto… that’s what?
Edit: What’s the point of Suunto running these forums if they’re not going to monitor them for issues as well? I have finally sent off an email to support and will report back with their response, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for a positive outcome.

Hi All Ocean Users
I am seeing new watches and updates on all other models, but nothing on the Ocean. I don’t want to sound like I am complaining, but some features were promised in the Q1 and Q2 videos as coming to Ocean “soon”, but by the time this gets to the Ocean, the Ocean will just be behind again on features.
To mention the few:
- Swim Drill mode (have been on other brands very long, and on most Suunto models for about 6 months, but not on Ocean yet.
- New HR algorithm introduced to both original race and race S (which should come to Ocean to improve the very inaccurate HR readings)
- New Maps with POI and street names etc.
It is very bad that Suunto does not give any update or at least an estimate window when to expect these updates.
@isazi , @dimitrios-kanellopoulos and @egika do you have any information on this, as in previous topics it was said that this is on its way, but never made it with the last update?
Ps. Why does Suunto not have separate tracks for Ocean updates, Sports Track and Dive track, this way the sports features make it in time while dive feature go through more rigorous testing? Please suggest this to the Ocean dev team.
Kind Regards

@Reino-von-Wielligh Ocean gets 1 or 2 updates per year
-
@isazi Thank you very much, just wondering why Suunto would have the information as coming soon to the Ocean, but then 6 months later we still don’t have it. Then they should rather not mention it for the Ocean. Please read my suggestion on seperate Dev tracks for Ocean.
-
@Reino-von-Wielligh I see that the Ocean already had a firmware release in 2026, version 2.51.28, so not sure if it is getting a new one this year or not. I see that the swim drills mode has been released to the other watches with the 2.53.42 release.
-
@isazi Yes, that is what is worrying me as in the Q1 and Q2 videos, features that was promised to be coming, never made it to the Ocean version 2.51.28
The links of the official Suunto videos said these will come to Ocean, but we are still waiting 6 more than 6 months later from when it was mentioned on the videos:
