Hello all. Is there a Suunto app (for the Vertical 2) that would help with the following scenario. While doing a multi-day hike I might set up the tent and then climb a few mountains with a lot less kit. Or maybe just leave a load of kit hidden behind a rock to save weight when I know I’m going to return later in the day. Of course, I need to be able to find my tent/hidden kit… And the mist can come down…

Is there an app that would let me, during an activity, save the current coordinates at the press of a button, and then help me navigate back to those coordinates? Obviously I could just write the coordinates down when I put up the tent, but if such an app exists it would be very useful (for me at least!). As far as I can see, you can’t add a POI during an activity, but very happy to be corrected.

      Thanks, Richard

@RichardM yes, without any Suunto plus app. By scrolling down in the map/navigation options you can save your current position (or a generic position you choose on the screen by navigating the map with pan) as a PDI. Then you can use the compass to navigate back to it, or use the track back feature to return to the starting point (if you are still tracking your activity)

@SergioB Thanks! I’ll try it. Will this work while in an activity?

@RichardM yes, even with navigation enabled 🙂

@SergioB Thanks! Just tried it on a test walk and it works perfectly. I didn’t realise you could change navigation while in an activity. It worked fine changing navigation from a route to the newly created POI. Thanks, Richard
