      Hello
i went to a lake for swimming and used the openwater swim to record it.
i have been swimming with breaststroke.
The Time has been recorded but not the gps track, so i do not know how many meters i have been swimming.
The watch was on my wrist.
so did i miss something it went wrong?
      have a nice day

@vinc14 GPS work only outside water, so maybe with breaststroke your wrist does not go enough outside water as in freestyle

thinked about this, hope a couple of cm below water would still be ok.
so where to put the watch?

@vinc14 for OWS GNSS tracks, your hand has to leave the water: front crawl/freestyle or backstroke only.

If you think of water as a mirror between you and the satellites, and your hand is behind the mirror…

Garmin suggest putting it in your swimming cap. And stating on a footnote that the wrist based function won’t work in that case… 😁

I don’t want to start a new thread just for this, so I’ll try asking here. This year—that is, since the latest firmware update—I’ve noticed that when I swim outdoors, my watch doesn’t show the distance swum. I’ve tried both my custom sport mode and the preset one. When I save the activity, I can see the distance. But while I’m swimming, it still shows 0 m. Has anyone else had the same experience?
