      Hi Suunto team,

I would like to request a missing navigation feature on Suunto Ocean: reverse route navigation directly from the watch.

During a hike, I followed a loaded GPX route. When I reached the end, I wanted to navigate the same route back in the opposite direction. I could not find such an option on the watch.

For outdoor users this is a basic and important workflow. A hiker should not need to prepare two GPX files in advance — one forward and one backward — just to return on the same route. Garmin watches already support this kind of use case, and it is very useful in the field.
I also want to see the updated numbers of remaining distance and elevations of the back route.

      Please consider adding:
      Route → Navigate → Forward / Reverse

      or, during an active navigation:
Navigation options → Reverse route / Navigate back on this route

This would be a major practical improvement for hiking, trekking and trail running.

      Thanks.

@Meir-Boudoukh would be also great if you can choose a route from a previous activity. At least displayed in the maps.

I don’t know how it works on an ocean, but on my race s the direction is auto detected.
If the route has tbt alerts, those are applied either way the direction I walk/run/bike the route.
If I have reached the destination, the route is still available.
No need to go into menu’s the choose a direction, just start.

On my 2 previous garmins, this worked different.
I had to choose in advance which way to go (and on a round trip it wasn’t easy to see on the map which way to start)
If you followed a route the other way around without setting it in the settings you had a course error warning on your screen, all the time.
When you selected the route to be followed in opposite direction you would loose tbt alerts.
And if you reached destination, the route disappeared from your screen. Way to many times when I wanted to follow a round trip, the stupid watch concluded I reached my destination before I even stared and the watch ended navigation. So you have to go into settings and select the route again.

I understand your wish to follow a route in opposite direction, but don’t envy garmin users. Envy suunto users with a running sport watch.
