HRM 2?

My very first run during my lunch break at work with the HRM2 (sorry, I haven’t enabled Running Dynamic so can’t say anything).
Setup went smoothly with SA, except for one small hiccup with the watch (Race S), which is why I’m asking: do I need to enable an open connection to let the sensor pair with the watch? Until I held down (long press) the button (i.e., until I enabled an open connection), it wouldn’t pair at all
I re-paired the strap with SA and watch without any problems. I probably did something wrong the first time. Sorry.
