Suunto vertical is now junk

I put a post up a few months back to give credit to suunto it seemed they had solved the battery drain issue and they did for a while. The issue is now back in full swing 30% a day this watch is absolute junk. For the first 12 months it was excellent, basically after suunto sent operations offshore to China certain updates have ruined this watch. Not to mention solar stopped working after about 18months, I was able to live with that without complaining but the battery drain is a joke. And to all the people that come out and say mine doesn’t do that well that’s great mine however does. I have sent it back to suunto who said there is no hardware problem and wiped their hands of it. I have done every possible reset and thing you can try. This is a warning to others out there reading this could start happening to you too. Hopefully moderators don’t delete this as this is truth I’m speaking. My old ambit 3 peak has 5 times the battery life of this junk.

@gone-troppo I can understand that you are frustated if your watch doesn’t work as expected. Mine is two years and two months old (and doesn’t do that). As an engineer that has a lot of experience in aftersales issues my experienece says that if the majority of the devices do not have the same issues that you it means that yours has something different or you do something different.
If your watch is the SVTS and is draining 30% per day it is pretty clear that somenthing is faulty with the watch. doing a normal use of course. Even more if it was working properly and suddenly you get this battery consumption.
In my experience, the battery killer in this watch is the backlight and with last firmware a bug popped up that in some circumstances the backlight is enabled when starting an activity, check it out.I would send it again to service again, for sure.

I second @cosme.costa on this one.
Plus if the solar panel stopped working, I would suspect, that probably the battery is depleted through the solar charging circuit.
Anyway, only Suunto repair center can solve this.
