BUG: when external HR sensor drops, the HR zone indicator on the watch gets stuck at the last known HR. The HR graph too.

In a recent long event I had an issue with an external HR sensor, which resulted in stopping receiving HR data. That was not a fault of the watch, however I observed an issue that could be handled much better on the watch.

There is a HR zone indicator (dial) around each data screen. That basically continued to show the last known HR value and the indicator arrow was no longer moving until the end of the run even though the watch no longer received HR data. That was hugely misleading. In general I don’t have the exact HR value configured on any of the data screens and instead rely on the zone indicator. I think if the HR is unknown it should become gray, which should be identical to HR data field showing “–”.

I do have a HR graph as one of the data screens and it had basically flat lined, showing the last known HR as if it unchanged. That is also wrong and not acceptable because that is misleading.
Furthermore, if the external HR drops for longer than a certain interval (30-60 seconds) and the internal HR isn’t explicitly disabled, a much better behavior would be to automatically switch to internal HR. Perhaps there should be a notification about external HR no longer working, although it shouldn’t require any input from the user.

@sky-runner Something similar happened to me a while ago, due to the depleted battery of my armband (Polar Verity Sense).
much better behavior would be to automatically switch to internal HR.
if I’m not mistaken, such behaviour is already included with the Suunto Run, and it would be great to have it.
