Tide table on vertical 2
-
Is there a way to add a tide table or chart in the vertical 2?
Could be as a widget or app

Should be easy as it seems to be done on the Ocean!

@kevin_ has been asked quite a few times recently please search

@Egika. Yes i have seen some queries. But nothing in 2026 so I push it again :).
-
@kevin_ That would be useful. I’d upvote it (if I could work out how to on this forum)

Yes this would make me upgrade from my Suunto Core that has been my main watch for many many years without fail. Having UK tides on a watch would be a great option and I would certainly buy the Vetical if it had a tide widget. I know it has great navigation etc. which I would absolutely make use so I am not knocking the watch at all

Just got my Vertical 2 yesterday… I live on the Canadian east coast. Some of the hikes I go on are affected by the local tides, so having this kind of information right on the watch would be a huge help!

@toesalad fur sure it would!

Tide widget is there with the new update:

Is anyone else having trouble updating the data for the tide widget on the V2? Mine updated when I installed the new firmware this week but since then it has not updated. It says no data available. Syncing the watch to the app does nothing, nor does selecting update now in the widget itself. I have tried a soft reset and removing the widget from the watch then reinstalling it and it still does not update. I live less than a mile from the sea in Scotland.

@MikeC30 the same here

@MikeC30 Exactly the same problem. I’m in Brittany next to the sea. After installation of the widget it was nicely updated. But now, it’s broken. I’ve tried everything : no update. I think there is a problem with the Tide server… No the V2

is working well on my side (iOS).
-
Alas, that does not work.

@MikeC30 you can try a couple of things: restart BT on watch and phone (Airplane mode off/on).
Force close and restart the app and tap “synchronize now” in the app. -
Hi, I didn’t do any special today and it’s working again. I can see the tide and the prediction. Very strange
I’m on IOS -
Widget working again today and I didn’t get a chance to try the things you suggested. Thanks for the advice.
I am on holiday in a different part of Scotland now so not sure if that has made a difference or not to the widget updating.
I am not sure exactly where Suunto gets its tide data from but my location only says Scotland in the widget and comparing the widget tide times to the nearest local port tide tables there is a significant difference in the timings of high/low tide and also the tide level.

@MikeC30 When I first tested this widget – quite far from the coast – it only showed the country name. But when I was near the beach and checked how it worked in practice, it showed more specific local locations instead.

@MikeC30 same here

@MikeC30 I’ve asked about this on another thread but so far there’s been no clarification. I’m 100metres from the sea near Arisaig and mine just says ‘Scotland’. I would very much like to know where the data is taken from - if it’s a tidal reference port it really needs to name that. I asked if the system was clever enough to calculate tides for the exact location but I stand to be corrected. I doubt this is possible due to local variations etc and in any case (sorry if you already know this) most calculations used for planning etc are based on times plus or minus reference ports so for practical purposes I think that would be better.
Comments were made in the other thread about other better sources for tidal info - I agree but I like having it on the watch as well and have found myself referring to it regularly. -
@MarkG in my experience I got “Italy” when far away from the sea, or various town names when closer. Tested it in Italy and the Netherlands. Maybe there is an issue with your specific location that I can report.
