@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos additional workaround my last post about this and only one device I own which cannot be powered off
-
Also noticed that another bug in Sleep Resume has corrected…
Every morning see that the watch was doing wrong difference between Sleep Goal and Real Sleep Time (it was correct in last 7 days list, but not in Resume)
Yeah!
-
on the Trainer it looks, at least for today, i actually got a complete 12h heartrate graph (no blank spots).
hope it continues like this now, previously i rarely had a full graph.
-
@sartoric I also like the updated watch face. looks mutch more refined.
i would like if the rest time remaining or daily steps could be replaced with daily calories target instead
-
don’t know if theis is new or asked before:
what does the “Power Saving” toggle in the general settings actually do?
At least I don’t see an immediate result.Thank you!
-
@Egika turns vibrations off , I think also lowers brightness and turns BT comms off. Not 100% on all that but this is what I had seen in the past testing it.

Great update for SSU from my point of view. I like the new way looking at the time during the activity (I know it’s been on S9 for some time) - holding the right bottom button with the option to lock the display.
I wonder whether it wouldn’t be possible do something similar with the backlight? Holding the middle button for example and choose to turn on the backlight or access the options menu? Or something like that? That would solve the issue with toggle mode when you turn off the touchscreen.
Is it possible to turn off the touchscreen from the power saving activity menu? Or somewhere else? I think this could be there as well when you can already set autolaps etc.
Otherwise I am satisfied with the update (no battery modes but I can live with that:)) -
@Zdeněk-Hruška I think you can hold a little the middle button to turn on backlight. That is what I do. And yes I think you can turn off touch via power options now.
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška oh you can also double tap on the screen to get that lock popup
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Thanks for the info. Is it possible to turn on the backlight with the middle button on SSU now? I need to try it out. Regarding the touch screen I am unable to find the option. Is it really there? Are you sure?
-
@Zdeněk-Hruška not 100% sure I need to update my spartan first sorry

One more!
It seems today I have to leave work early!!!Not only that, but my guests are going hungry. No grilling until both watches are charged and upgraded, he-he! Should have asked for ribs. At least, they take long enough for me to update in parallel
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos no problem. I think it’s not there. At least I can’t see it. But it would be good option

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos is this feature (“holding a little the middle button to turn on backlight” during activity) available on S9?
Just tried with Running and Walking on my S9 with 2.5.18.

If after starting exercise screen is locked (using lower button):
1.1. short press on middle button - switch between activity screens;
1.2. long press on middle button - ‘Locked’ message is displayed. -
If after starting exercise screen is not locked:
2.1. short press on middle button - switch between screens;
2.2. long press on middle button - exercise “Options” menu is shown.
NB. Probably, activation of backlight by single long press is not good idea, since it can be accidentally caused by sleeves or gloves, resulting in battery drain. Especially, when buttons are explicitly locked to avoid such misfortune.
Perhaps, some sequence could be helpful here (something like “long press + short press” of lower button that is used to unlock buttons). -
-
@kolyany4 Excuse me probably I confused the requirement.
by holding a bit the middle button does not toggle the backlight state.
It does however light up the screen just a little before the options is about to appear.
Makes sense?

Nope.
Only gear image with circle around it is animated, though without any backlight active… -
@kolyany4 definitely does for me Strange… I have backlight to off

It was found that
Case 1:
Setting->General->Backlight->Mode = Toggle
and
Exercise->…->Options->Backlight = Normal,
then backlight is not activated during Exercise if buttons are pressed.Case 2:
Setting->General->Backlight->Mode = Automatic
and
Exercise->…->Options->Backlight = Normal,
then backlight activates if I press any button (during Exercise)…Thus, it would be great to have option to activate backlight during Exercise even when Mode == Toggle…
which doesn’t mean that in latter case backlight should be activated whenever button is pressed: I activated Toggle mode for backlight to save battery as much as possible, and I want backlight on only if I explicitly activate it (e.g., by some key combination in this case)… -
@kolyany4 Exactly, that’s what I thought. I have always used toggle mode to save some battery. But because you are unable to tu turn the backlight on when you turn the touchscreen off I think I will use the automatic mode with 10% brightness or something.

Hello guys,
updated my S9 and went for an easy run. It was also a good opportunity to test the OHR if it got fixed (not that it is mentioned on the change logs).
Well it is not. As you can see on the pics there is dramatic drop on the graph and that is when the OHR starts to work properly. On the second photo you can see the location of the watch on my hand.
Thank you
