ZoneSense not working properly during runs
-
Hello!
I have tried using ZoneSense in real-time on my Suunto Run after version 3.22.18, but I am afraid it doesn’t work properly.
The needle stays either at the beginning or at the peak of the green zone most of the time, no matter my BPM. And I got until 170 BPM, and everything was green, which is impossible!
This happened to me in all my runs (5).
I am using the Polar H9 chest strap. I Any advice? Thanks!

Looks familiar, though I’m using ZoneSense to check for stuff after my runs and not in real-time. Here’s an interval run I did recently:

The graph doesn’t turn yellow (anaerobic) until at around 173-174 heart rate. Using a Polar H10 chest strap.

For me it seems that Your first 10 minutes need to be reeeeeeaaaaly slow for the zonesense to be able to do reasonable estimations

@Tomi Thanks for your graph! Then it seems it’s similar to mine. I am not sure our readings are working as intended…

Here’s an another run, a slow one with an average HR of 134. According to ZS I spent 34% of the time in the anaerobic zone here.

It seems to me like ZS is doing some sort of calibration during the first 10 minutes along the lines of: “Take the highest heart rate reading from the first 10 minutes and establish that + 10 as the aerobic threshold”.

I know it is different but I feel that zonesense combined with something like running dynamics that Suunto had in the past would be better
