I guess that is what happened with my Race S as well - as written here

@2b2bff @Egika - Yes, that’s my impression as well. Once the sensors switch off, it probably triggers the whole ‘off-skin mode’ logic. Kind of a chicken-and-egg situation that only Suunto can really sort out — is it falsely detecting no skin contact, or are the sensors shutting down for some other reason?

            Just to add my perspective:
It’s frustrating that a basic issue like the nightly sensor shutdown is still around. This isn’t an isolated case — several users report the same behaviour, and it has a real impact on sleep/HRV tracking.

The watch is great in many ways, but when such a core function keeps failing, it becomes hard to trust the device long term. Some users even joked at me that the only reliable “solution” is to return the watch after 11 months and hope the next model fixes it — which says a lot about how long this problem has been known.

It would be really appreciated if Suunto could take a closer look and address this properly. The hardware seems capable; it feels like a firmware issue that should be solvable.

A shiver runs down my spine…

Currently, @Jaxxdu (https://forum.suunto.com/post/180232) and you had (again) the “pleasure” of this bug… Very very well! So, I’m waiting for it.

I had another swim session today, once again watch missed 8-10 25m distances in 2500m. It is quite frustrating, last year in June before firmware update which supposed to fix swim style detection it was quite accurate, it was often that even one distance wasn’t missed for thewhole session. After that update it was worse but it was acceptible to miss few distances, but now it’s a disaster.

I still don’ t understand how to see new running metrics (ground contact etc).
I use Vertical 2 with latest firmware, with or without Stryd, with or without custom mode and in all cases I don’t see those metrics…

@v.sacre I don’t have these on watch screen but these details are visible in the activity summary after you finish a run or in Stats in the app. Do you see this?

@Ecki-D. I’m waiting for a solid Q4 software update otherwise my race 2 is an expensive paperweight.

A little episode on sleep tracking. This has been the last night for my watch:

                          ae6a942d-159f-4463-836a-522fdcd22cce-image.png

What really happened is that I woke up because of a cough coming up. I stood up, went to the bathroom to not disturb my sleeping wife. This is represented by the first of the spikes. Then I went to bed again. A couple of minutes later I felt the coughing coming back, so I stood up again, went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. Stayed there for almost an hour before going back to sleep again. This timeframe is surrounded by the other two spikes. I needed another half an hour or so to really sleep again.

This can be somewhat seen if we look at the HR at the same time…

                          217edbe9-c077-4538-b24c-f15a1cd5e253-image.png

At the end I woke up about 08:38. So, currently sleep tracking is very generous and usually overestimates sleep. It has been better in the past…
