Race 2 pool swimming accuracy
-
Hi all,
I recently switched from the Race S to the Race 2. I switched for the better battery life and for the better OHR and am in general certainly nog disappointed.
One thing that is bothering me though is the accuracy of lap detection during pool swimming. The Race S was almost perfect from the moment I got it and even better after the March 2025 update. It was by far the most accurate watch I ever had in this respect. I was expecting the same accuracy from the Race 2, assuming relevant hardware and algorithm to be the same, but that seems to be not the case.
The watch is always at least one length wrong (on a total of about 40 lengths) and sometimes several lengths more. Sometimes I can link it to an acceleration mid length when overtaking someone (past watches had the same issue, but not my Race S), sometimes I have no clue what the issue is.
Some examples of the Race S:

Some examples of the Race2:

(Note that the scale of the graphs are different, making the Race S measurement look more irregular at first glance, while it is in fact more accurate.)This is obviously not a dealbreaker, but unexpected. Does anyone have the same issue? Anybody any clue what might be the reason for the difference?
Thx.
