Bluetooth connectivity issue with iPhone and Race 2
-
I’m having trouble keeping a connection with my race 2 and iPhone Xs. Race S is fine.
With the Race 2 I was able to pair initially, but when the connection was lost for normal reasons (such as distance) it will not reconnect.
I tried many things (reboots, unpair, etc) and nothing appears to be working right now.
Race S still fine and connects right away.
“Randomly” one day I was able to pair it again. I did the firmware update. But now I’m back to not connected.
I’m thinking the Bluetooth hardware in the watch is working intermittent and may pursue a refund. But wanted to see if there any other options first …

@fritzbt2013 Xs is pretty old hardware - what iOS are you running? all updates installed?
When you tried to re-pair the device did you clear all connections on the phone and the app/phone?

@larrybbaker 16.6.2. Close to most recent. I’m also having same problem on newer iPad… problem is following watch.
All cleared… Bluetooth device, mobile app, etc,
EDIT: most likely cause of my issue turned out to be you need to wear the watch for it to connect to the phone. With the race S this is not the case. I only use the race 2 watch for activities and put it on right before I start and take it off right after. My phone is usually off during and for a short while after the activity…
