iOS app reports race 2 in sports mode while it’s not
-
Since the latest update to 2.46.14, the Suunto ios app reports that my race 2 is continuously in sports mode while it’s not.
So to sync the app with the watch, I have to press the lower button on the watch and then the app syncs
I’ve tried the following, to get it solved:
- turn off and on the watch
- soft reset the watch
- reconnect Bluetooth
Anyone experiencing the same thing and know how to solve it?

@Ries22 I can confirm this, but the softreset has solved the problem. Whether permanent or not I don’t know yet.
By the way, I use the Suunto app as a beta… IPhone 15 Pro Max and latest iOS. -

@Sascha-Domres, I have an IPhone 13 Pro with latest iOS version. Noticed that a soft reset temporarily works.
I dropped an email to Suunto support on this behaviour. When I heard back I’ll update it here as well.

Update: Suunto advised factory reset. Not very happy to do so. Now wait and see for at least a day, if the problem will reoccur.

It is a known issue of current watch FW, and not phone app related (AFAIK).
Same topics and same comment are spread in other posts as well. -
@Mff73 thanks, do you know where I can track progress on the issue.
Strange that support didn’t mentioned it and let me perform a factory reset.
Suunto is requesting to send back my watch for analysis. Sounds a bit drastic, as it will probably take 3 weeks before it will be back or replaced.
I have rolled-back the software update on the watch and disabled software updates in the app. So far so good.
Assuming FW=firmware
What does AFAIK mean?Update: since the rollback, the watch and app are working perfectly again.
Update 2: Watch and app are still working fine.
Did 3 work outs, 2 with gps of which 1 with navigation.
I noticed that the battery consumption is a bit lower then before (battery consumption stayed the same after the upgrade) Could be due to the factory reset earlier.
