Alert beep and vibration
-
I hope Suunto can improve the notification beep and vibration system for alerts such as exceeding targets or going beyond the set heart rate zone.
For example, a specific pattern — like three quick beeps to indicate a warning, and two beeps or vibrations to indicate being within the correct zone — would be very helpful.
This way, runners wouldn’t have to constantly look at their watch when a beep or vibration occurs.I often set my training intensity based on heart rate zones, so I rely on audio and vibration cues during my runs. However, the current beep sounds the same whether I’m inside or outside the target zone. Because of this, I often have to glance at the watch to confirm my status, which interrupts focus and rhythm.
I used to wear the Forerunner 55, and it handled this feature really well. In simple terms, it used different beep or vibration patterns to distinguish between positive and negative alerts — a “positive” pattern when you’re in the correct zone, and a distinct warning pattern when you’re not.
It’s a small detail, but it makes a big differencel in my opinion…
