Race s or Vertical in maps and zoom
-
I’m about to buy my first Suunto watch. I’ve never owned a device like this before, and I’m undecided between the Race S and the Vertical. The Vertical has dropped significantly in price, but I’m not sure how much older it is compared to the Race S in terms of hardware and overall usage.
I’ve read about the heart rate sensor and understand that both watches have some inaccuracies.
Besides recording my activities (mainly running and trekking, never more than a full day), I really enjoy looking at maps while I run or walk, and I’d like to know if both devices provide the same map information.
Often when I hike, I don’t follow a pre-set route, but rather navigate directly on the watch, zooming into the area I’m interested in.
Are there any differences in zooming capabilities or how the map can be navigated between the two devices?
