@Jan-Suchánek I had that just once in 2 years with the V1. Hopefully just a blip where satellite has been lost.

I remember having one similar with Garmin years ago when it put me in the USA! I’m in the UK…

@Audaxjoe Yes, it’s the Titan version. I’ve been running for 4 hours now and am satisfied so far. The GPS looks very good. The display is very easy to read. However, I can’t comment on how it performs for cyclists because I’m not a cyclist 😁

I am also somehow little bit disappointed by the vertical 2.
too very similar with the race 2.

What the V2 should have been for me:

            • mip display
            • bigger screen
            • same new led flash light
            • same new charger
            • same new chipset for future proof new features
            • same new heartrate sensor
            • the best part: better solar charging with bestial autonomy creating new leed in the market from far, like the V1 in his time. creating a really autonomous watch for hiker (7 days in the mountains etc. ultra runner for extra long distances etc. I know V1 is more than enough, but somwhow, even more is even better no?
            • same new charger with magnetic (v1 is a pain this is true)

            what else?

Thanks for the info! I had feeling, that the flashlight is a lot weaker than on F7Pro which I used to have. But it’s useable. For running at night isn’t any watch flashlight suitable IMHO.
But what seems strange to me, that there is only small difference between 4 intensity modes. That was much better on F7Pro. But it could be changed in future FW.

How is your minimal heart rate compared to before? After three nights with V1 and V2 i see that V2 is always 2-3 beats higher.

@JonasLarsson considering they are not medical devices both, and that ohr sensor are different…and that 2/3 bpm in not significative (I understand you worn both watches to compare ?), I would not give any conclusion

@Tieutieu I think 3 bpm is significant but I can be wrong. Curious if other have the same problem.

I always buy the new top outdoor watch from Suunto as soon as it’s released because I’m a long-time fan of the brand. I do it to see whether they’ve finally fixed the old software issues and to check if I can finally recommend my athletes to use Suunto instead of Garmin.
But unfortunately, I keep finding the same problems:
                      1. It’s impossible to change data fields on the watch screens directly, without stopping the activity.
                      2. The activity data screens are limited.
                      3. HRV data, sleep data, and resting HR are not exported to TrainingPeaks.
                      4. “Feeling” and workout RPE data are not exported to TrainingPeaks either.
                      5. It has now also become impossible to add a customized energy consumption strategy.

You can live with points 1 and 2 — it’s been like that since the Ambit 3 Peak and I don’t think Suunto will ever invest in decent software — but points 3 and 4 are essential for a professional product suitable for coaching.
I simply cannot recommend a sports watch that doesn’t natively export these key data to TrainingPeaks.

Compared to Polar as well, it’s clear that Suunto has once again missed the train of high-quality sports watches.

@JonasLarsson maybe try to switch watches during next nights (I guess you wear them one at each wrist ?) ?

@JonasLarsson Hi Jonas, now that you mention it, since I started using the SV2, the nightly records have increased by about 3 beats…🤔 I must also say that they have been or possibly altered by an increase in my physical activity and sleeping away from home…still too early in my case to determine.

Just tried fast walking/slow running to 7th floor. Started with 96bpm, ended with 98bpm. 😁
To be honest, Fenix 7Pro wasn’t good too, but HR starts rising from 4th floor.
Tomorrow I’ll try bike commute to work and will see, if I have to continue using chest strap for this activity.

You can make a guess how many percent of Suunto users have never configured a single custom sport mode.

Do You have numbers? I’m curious about that🙂. My guess is 40% because I think, that Suunto buy more sporty people which customize the watch. Garmin could be opposite IMHO, there I’ll guess 60%.

Yes - it is more than 80% of users who only use the built in sport modes.

@Egika Maybe I misunderstood it. If it refers only to creating a new activity profile, then I get it. But if it also includes modifying predefined profiles/data fields, that percentage seems really high to me — and it just shows that the vast majority of people use the watch as a fashion accessory :-).

After a few days with this wonderful watch I cannot understand why they decided to change menu after swipe from top to bottom where now are only sports categories
In my opinion previously (I compare V2 to S9B) was much better
Now I have too much options in bottom menu

                                      Kind regards,

@Jan-Suchánek the number is referring to the users who are not customising data fields. Just using the “basic” predefined ones".

@Egika Wow! So for Garmin it must be 95%. Now I understand why nothing ever happens at Garmin with reported bugs. There’s no reason to fix anything when the vast majority barely use the watches, and therefore don’t have any problems…
