After performing a hard reset and setting everything up from scratch, the current battery drain is about 10% per day, compared to 3% per day before the latest update. In simple terms, that’s roughly 10 days of use instead of the previously achieved and advertised 30 days (with 24/7 OHR enabled, notifications turned off, and no sport use — I haven’t started any activities such as running). To be honest, this feels similar to the early stages of the Fenix 8 MIP release, when excessive background CPU activity caused the MIP models to perform almost like AMOLED versions in terms of battery life. Garmin eventually resolved that issue, but it makes me wonder what Suunto changed in their latest firmware — what previously tested processes were modified, or what new background tasks were introduced — that could explain such a significant increase in power consumption.
