      @gone-troppo Hi!

      Have you received any feedback from the repair team regarding your Suunto Vertical? Are they aware of the battery issues that many users seem to be experiencing?

      Thanks!

      Hey mate I put a bit of an update on the other battery drain topic on the top of the page.

        @Elipsus Replying to myself, since the answer from Suunto was completly absent
        A hard reset seemed to have solved my issue with the watch turning off during the night (at the expense of loosing all customization, HRV data and spending hours re-adjusting all the parameters buried in tens of various submenus,seriously, it took me 10 minutes to find the “running pace zones”)

          Is there a way to prevent custom sport modes from disappearing after every new software update (Race S) ? The last update was the fourth time this has happened, and I have to configure everything again each time.

            especially HRV affects the sleep quality the most

            or maybe is the sleep quality that affects the HRV? likely they affect each other …

              Well, HRV indicates, among other things, that you had a bad night’s sleep for some reason. These numbers don’t come from a random number generator.

                Ever since I updated to this firmware version (2.44.52) I receive ‘stand up’ notifications while not wearing the watch. The watch is in a drawer when it gives the alert.

                How does it know I’m sitting down when I’m not wearing it?

                  It also beeps in my bed at night while I’m sleeping, and I wake up a lot. I think it has something to do with the motion sensor.

                    Same for me. It beeps while i am not doing an activity. (It disappears on soft reset). It seems to be the same beep as one when connecting to HR (arm) sensor. Perhaps it tries to connect all the tiimes and could explain the battery drain in some cases…@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos

                      After the update I recognised that the SV 1 tried to connect to a hr sensor despite whether a sensor was paired/connected nor the ohr was enabled (if I started any activity). This could not be avoided even through a hard reset of the watch.

                      So you may be right with your opinion. 👍

                        This is the third time I’ve noticed this issue my Vertical 1 isn’t charging.

                        Whenever connect my watch to the charger, the screen just shows “downloading map.” assume it’s properly connected to the charger. Not sure if this is related to the recent update. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

                          @Wilson75 I noticed this too.
                          Not only is the cable itself very flimsy and requires constant checking to see if it’s actually charging, but now there’s another level of crap going on – the software suggests charging, but it doesn’t.

                              Dear Wilson75,
                              I had the same problem until I cleaned the Contacts of the V1 and the (very cheap designed) charging cradle. All contacts seem to be pretty clean, the watch showed the same as yours, but no juice from the cradle. After using warm water with some liquid soap the problem was gone. Since then the watch and cradle behave well as they should. Maybe it helps, good luck!

                                @Wilson75 I sometimes have the same problem, sometimes even worse, because the entire dedicated loading screen is displayed, but the percentages do not change - that is, despite the screen clearly suggesting charging.

                                @SirMcKey Thanks for suggesting that.
