Software Update 2.44.52 (2025 Q3 - HOTFIX)
-
@Dušan-Ković
I’ve completed my own battery tests.
These are solely my fault.
First of all, I’ve had my watch for 18 months (the watches go on sale in Turkey two months after launch).
The watch has a FW of 2.44.52. The Suunto app is 3.4.0.
I conducted the tests with daily use and an 18-hour weekend walking workout. I wore my HR belt during this workout.
In summary, I calculated that the battery performance of the watch has decreased by 15% compared to the current one.
So, you could think of the battery health of phones as being around 85%.
But I don’t think the decrease in battery life is the only reason.
More autonomous systems and phone usage also increase battery consumption.
Connecting to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, automatically updating the weather and GPS, and the effects of certain watch interfaces.
All of these factors affect battery health. Also,I’m very happy with my MIP Vetical 1 solar watch, but if the Vertical 2 delivers the same performance as promised, and if there’s a trade-in campaign in Turkey, I might trade my Vertical 1 Solar titanium watch for a Vertical 2 Titanium AMOLED watch.

@Stefano-M64 I don’t know, but 85% is the new 99%. Back in the old S9Baro days my sleep was almost always 99%, now on R2 it’s almost always 85%.
Edit: This is just my observation. I do not really pay attention to it.

@Stefano-M64 for me it seems like avg hr, min hr and especially HRV affects the sleep quality the most. Sleep time not as much. Sleeping 5h with high HRV gives better sleep score than 8-9h with low HRV value for me.

@krivograd
sorry, it works. Didnt find right settings… -
Hi,
Has anyone experiences that time to time all the routes disappear from watch and says: Sync with Suunto app.
I checked and there are routes in the Suunto app, sat to be synced to the watch. But dispite those are not on the watch.
If I force a sync, routes appear again, but after a nondeterministic time disappear again.Regards,

@gone-troppo Hi!
Have you received any feedback from the repair team regarding your Suunto Vertical? Are they aware of the battery issues that many users seem to be experiencing?
Thanks!

I have noticed an issue on my Vertical solar since one of latest firmware update (don’t remember exactly if it occurs since 2.44.52 or even 2.44.46). It is about solar widget which doesn’t update last 7 days graph correctly. Bars show minimum harvesting level although solar harvesting is good through the day. The last 3 hours graph is OK, only the last 7 days graph is wrong.
Has anybody else noticed this issue?
Someone else also reported this bug few days ago on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Suunto/comments/1nwvi5u/vertical_solar_widget_broken/ -
@sebchastang
well … this never really worked
it refreshes on soft reset tough -
@sartoric It used to work for me even if I noticed it requires a lot of hours of sun harvesting per day to increase the bars of the last 7 days graph.
Thanks for your feedback. -
@sebchastang
That’s true. But without a restart I’ve never been able to see an update. -

Hey mate I put a bit of an update on the other battery drain topic on the top of the page.

@Elipsus Replying to myself, since the answer from Suunto was completly absent
A hard reset seemed to have solved my issue with the watch turning off during the night (at the expense of loosing all customization, HRV data and spending hours re-adjusting all the parameters buried in tens of various submenus,seriously, it took me 10 minutes to find the “running pace zones”) -
Is there a way to prevent custom sport modes from disappearing after every new software update? The last update was the fourth time this has happened, and I have to configure everything again each time.
