I had never used the compass widget before and probably encountered a potential ?bug?. This happens every time the compass loses its calibration, which is about every 1-2 days without doing activities.
I start using the compass from the widget, but as soon as I launch it, it asks me to perform a calibration. So far, so good. I start doing the 8-path dance, but there is no way to perform the calibration (I tried for several minutes).
To solve the problem, I have to start any activity, in my case trekking, switch to breadcrumb view and start compass calibration, and in the blink of an eye, it’s done. I go back to watch mode and the compass widget starts working again.
Please, can you check if you are able to calibrate the compass from the widget as well? Thank you!

One more thing: once calibrated, if I force a new calibration, it works perfectly until it loses calibration again.

@Hari-Seldon I also had problems after the last update (3.20.22). I wanted to start a route, but first had to calibrate it. That didn’t work; I didn’t have the patience to wait, so I picked up my smartphone. I haven’t bothered with it since.

Now I tried again. I’m prompted to calibrate, regardless of whether I go to the Routes/Navigation or Compass widget. But I can’t complete the calibration either way. The red 8 remains on the display, and the display doesn’t dim until I go back and exit the widget.

Simply put, it’s no longer usable.

Have you tried the trick I described above? Meanwhile it works for me

@herlas could you please forward this to devs? Thanks!

Right, that’s how it works. So, exactly the same as yours.
