        Hi!

        This exactly:

        • Add map options for freediving, snorkeling, and mermaiding.

        What options have been added?

By the way, I’ve tried the new watch faces. On the shark watch face, it only lets me modify one compilation. I modify it to put something else, but it doesn’t change; it always shows the surface time.

Another thing that happened to me is that the first diving activity after the update (I haven’t done any more) doesn’t appear in the Suunto app (Android), it only appears on the watch.

Same : more customizable dive screen to have NDL + TTS + Tank Pressure + Depth + Dive Time on the same screen.

              Hi everyone,
I’ve also noticed an issue with this watch face setting. At the bottom, instead of just showing “4 weeks,” a few extra characters appear unnecessarily. These redundant symbols are quite annoying. So it looks like it’s not only me experiencing this, it’s not unique, but rather a nice little bug. Hopefully Suunto is reading the forum. I’ve already reported it through the chat service, and the agent was very helpful. Let’s hope others do the same so that it gets fixed.

And we haven’t even mentioned that we’re also asking for the other features that are already available elsewhere! Miss Suunto, I’m just pointing it out in case no one else has mentioned it yet! 😉 🙂 You’ve already pointed out the diving-related needs as well. It seems the focus isn’t really on us. I hope the next update will deliver and make a big impact, because right now it feels more like a patchwork of fixes, with more shortcomings than resolved issues. On top of that, there are also new small annoyances.

In my opinion, the focus has shifted to the new Race 2 and the soon-to-arrive Vertical 2. Maybe there will be another “wonder child” as well. Once the hype around those dies down, perhaps the Ocean will finally get the attention it deserves. It’s a great watch — it would be a shame otherwise. I trust that Suunto sees it the same way.

@Jean-Philippe-REY I tried to reinstall it but still a bugged watch face. Would we have to wait a year to solve it ?

                        Hi everyone!
I asked about this through chat support. Apparently, they are aware of the watch face issues. The fix is in progress. If it goes the same way as with the Race 2 watch face, then we’ll be waiting for quite a while.

I also asked about the multi-sensor issue. Here the conversation got messy, with some vague talk and misunderstandings. Maybe it was just my weak English. What I gathered from the conversation was that the newer models’ developed features will not all be available on the Ocean. When I asked what about the Race model—which is older and cheaper, yet still supports these features—the answer was that the Ocean is a diver’s watch, so the functions are not the same.

So, it seems to me that the situation is concerning. Even internally, they don’t seem to fully agree on what exactly this watch is supposed to be. Meanwhile, the advertising and marketing present it as a multisport watch for those who practice different sports alongside diving, with no compromises.

As far as I know, the hardware should be capable of supporting these functions—since the Race can do it. So now what? Should I buy another watch, like the Race 2? What should I do with this one? Sell it, even though some of its watch faces don’t even display correctly? And what guarantees that the same thing won’t happen with the Race 2 a year from now, when there’s another trending model?

I really do love this brand, but this… I can only hope I just got unlucky with a less informed support agent—or maybe my English really was too weak.

I hope a moderator is reading this, and that we’ll get proper internal feedback on these issues. It’s clear what we want: every feature that’s available in the cheaper models should be available here as well. If something can evolve there, then there must be a solution for improvement here too.

On the other hand, the development of diving features is also important for those who actually dive. I don’t want to go into the reasons why I chose this watch back then and not another model. According to marketing, we’re supposed to get the same capabilities as with the Race. To me, “no compromises” means exactly that—no compromises. Everything else is just empty talk.

I’d even say that I’d like to try diving and start learning it, but for now, it doesn’t seem like this watch will inspire me to do so. Of course, I don’t expect it to. This is more of a sharp critique towards my favorite brand. 🙂

So, I really hope we’ll get feedback—on the multi-sensor issue, the diving features, the watch face bug problem, etc. Suunto promised no compromises, so I’m not asking for more than that.

I am sorry for hard critic…I do not want hurt anybody, or I don’t want to be impolite. I am only requesting the service for which Suunto previously quoted a price.

@ISztárek not all features of other models will be available on the Ocean as far as I know, but it should be minor features missing (such as the ruler in the map) and not big ticket items

@ISztárek about multi sensor support, I tested it on my field-testing Ocean, so it works. I don’t know when Suunto will release the new firmware for this watch, but the sensor support should be there.

I just updated the Suunto app from iTunes. Unfortunately, the sync. problem still persists. In fact, I even have the impression that it has gotten worse. My connection issues concern only and exclusively my Suunto watch – all my other Bluetooth devices work flawlessly. On top of that, further uncertainties such as disappearing logbook entries, sensor issues, watch faces, incorrect starting depth when diving, the frequency of updates, and several other aspects reflect a much broader range of problems.

I’m really sorry to say this, but I have to voice my criticism very clearly: the problems with Suunto are becoming severe, and the communication is downright poor.

I kindly ask all testers, moderators, and employees present here to get in touch with Suunto and point out the mood and frustration within the community. I would also like to emphasize that this post is in no way directed personally at anyone in this forum. However, statements such as “as far as I know,” “someone with official contacts once said…,” or “it was communicated somewhere, though not officially” carry no weight for me anymore.
