Race 2 OPEN WATER
-
There is some problem in open water swimming in race 2, it underestimates distance(compared to suunto run, forerunner 745) even when i export GPX file from race 2 its still too short, like it would lose connection to satelites and dont connect it again(i know that under water it loses signal)

@Jakub-Brzóska
Could you share a GPS track of your OWS swim?
Still too short?
Could you elaborate on the level of discrepancy compared to other watches?
Do you swim in the sea or a lake? -

Lake, short about 270-290m

@Jakub-Brzóska
Could you please post a sample “jpg” file as you probably provided raw swimming data. -

@Jakub-Brzóska
The trace GPS doesn’t look bad, the only problem that might occur is the addition or subtraction of length when turning (changing direction of swim). I’ll test my Race 2 on my body of water this weekend and let you know.By the way, what differences in distance are we talking about?

@Jakub-Brzóska GPX is not a file format to export modern watch data. Race 2 does not written often points as it does not need often GNSS points. Works a bit like fused track.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos @Artus-Diver at 180 turns i paused the watch

Hi,
I’m back with my tests.
The conditions weren’t great because it was raining, cold, and overcast.
Two swimmers participated in the tests.
Swimmer 1 - Suunto Race 2, left wrist
Swimmer 1 - Suunto Vertical, right wrist
Swimmer 2 - Suunto Vertical, left wrist.The swimmers swam side by side, but not in the same swimming line.
I think the results are acceptable.

@Artus-Diver not only acceptable but this is absolute PERFECT!!
check this the older drifts of gps
