Vertical calories
-
I hiked another 14er (Humboldt) here in Colorado yesterday. Posting a pic of the stats and the chat with AI I had about calories. What do y’all think? I’m 55, female, and about 54kg. If you agree it’s wrong, is there anything I can do to configure it?

Well, it could be more then 900 but your AVG HR is less then 100, so doesn’t look like it was a hard hike, so definitely not a 3k Cal strenuous hiking as gpt suppose.
Cal burn is very personal so it’s a difficult figure to calculate. That said, an estimation is what it is

@Mardee-Saxton yes the HR is about equivalent to a walk in the park! If think that may answer some of the issues.
Having said that I have just checked my flat walk home from work. 45 min 185k average HR 80. I am 80kg.
I believe the calories burned is active only.

@sartoric thanks for your response. It was 4,400 of vertical gain and hiking at that elevation is no joke. It was super hard.

so perhaps the HR is not accurate

I think its a matter of all the personal data entered in the watch.
For example, I’ve done recently an hiking activity: 32[km], almost 8[h] duration, 2000[m] ascent, avg. heart rate 93[bpm] by HR belt, 2960[kcal].
2960[kcal] are maybe too much? Maybe, but I was really (not) feeling them in my body!
