Have anyone tried surfing profile?
-
Hi,
I use Race S mostly for running, but recently I tried Surfing profile. It’s fun to see the GPS log and I liked it displays the number of wave ride. It worked first few times, however, the watch didn’t count the number of waves today. I don’t know the difference the time it worked and it didn’t work. The last time Surf profile has three pages during activity, but today it only has one page, I couldn’t switch other pages.
I might turn off something. Does anyone know why?

@raspy you’re maybe missing the surf S+ app?

@raspy Race S is not really a watch for surfing. Generally you have to use a watch with 100m (10ATM) ready for any chock when you fall. If you continu the Watch will probably freeze and you will have to repare it.
I used in the past the Suunto vertical (10ATM) and after 3 hours the watch stopped the activity with a black screen ( screen was frozzen and i had to send it to repare the watch).
Garmin watch Instinct was more appropriate for this kind of sport, no bug related after 20 hours of surf. -
No worries. I am using all my Suuntos for kite surfing, wakeboarding and surfing. No issue at all.
Just sometimes the scroll wheel needs some extra cleaning from fine sand at the beach. -
Thanks for your replies.
However my main question was inconsistency of the feature. (Or it was gone after the first two times of surfing activity)The first two times (about two weeks ago), I got the number of the waves that I rode, and the last time didn’t. it used to have multiple pages for data during the activity, but it won’t show it anymore, I only see one page. I have never turned on Suunto Plus so I’m sure it was not SuuntoPlus.
I tried surfing activity now and it only shows one page; I don’t have 2nd and 3rd data page anymore. I want to get them back.
How many data pages do you see when you started surfing activity on Race S? One or multiple? -
ok it seems like @isazi was correct, the data screen was from surf SuuntoPlus app. Now I can see the number of the waves.
The weird part is I have never turned on surf S+ app with surfing activity and it was not installed to my watch.
I have not opened my watch page on my Suunto app for very long time, so I’m sure I didn’t install nor uninstall surf S+ app.Somehow it was turned on for the first two times.
Maybe it was a firmware bug, S+ apps are probably existing in my watch anyway. Somehow it was turned on and then turned off for some reason. Thanks for all your help.

@raspy it was installed automatically and enabled by default, then one bug or introduction of new feature made the automatically installed S+ apps disappear for some users
