Styrd + HRM Pro+ Connection Issue

Has anyone noticed any issues with their paired devices not connecting when multiple are selected for a given activity?
I have a Stryd and Garmin HRM Pro+ chest strap both successfully paired to the watch, however despite that, when I start an activity - standard or custom type for running - neither of the devices will connect. One of them might for a short second, but then disconnect again.
This only seems to be an issue when multiple devices are selected, if I disable one of them, the active one then connects fine. Never noticed this as an issue before.
I’ve attempted to remove the devices and re connect them before attempting the start an activity again, but the same issue happens everytime!
Any ideas / suggestions?
