Is the heart rate always recorded during training?

Hello ,
as I can’t find any information in the manual or suitable settings.

Is it possible to do a training session (e.g. a long mountain hike) without recording the heart rate? Or is the heart rate always recorded?

With my Race S, I can train without recording my heart rate, there is an option in the training menu.
