@pavel.samokha Great! Soft Reset or deleting and installing the map? Or both?
-
Great for people in Germany, Austria and Italy. I hope other countries get some love during the lifetime of our watches… Balkans is still on contour lines at 200 m max.
-
OMGhow long will it take to download
-
@SuperFlo75 It is not just “download” afair the process. But hey, it is in the background, so wtf
-
@Gunnar but you have to put the watch on the charger
-
@SuperFlo75 yes, crazy world
-
4 hours for 6,3 GB of updates.
Have a break!
-
Sadly the artefacts affecting the Dolomites area are still there…
that’s really embarrassing! -
@Stefano-M64 totally agree with you. I cant wait to test it in 1 week in Bavarian and tyrol alps.
-
@pavel.samokha Is there any information about other countries?
-
I wonder what the reason is for such a slow rollout (many many months in between and only a couple of countries each time). Is there some manual work involved in actually processing the maps/data? I originally thought it was to test how well the changes in contour lines work on a subset of data, but that does not warrant such slow progress, which is also still very limited to only a few countries. Does anyone have an idea?
-
@Honza we waited 2years for the “new” Maps and now some users Report that many Details are missing at some zoom Levels. Where track lines are complete away… And only colored sections we can see at the Maps…
i cannot believe this.I am at the tyrolien alps in Austria next week. I will Report how the maps in the alps there work for now.

Hello, it’s been 7 months since the last update for the french maps on m’y vertical.
I can’t see any new updates. I live in South France.
Is it normal? -
-
@GiPFELKiND
Thanks…I can read.
We are the 19th of July and some french users had already the map update. -
@Kramble I live in Türkiye. The current map doesn’t even show the main street in front of my house
So I don’t have any hope for the update.
-
The selection of map sections is still a challenge. In Germany, I can’t download any of the federal states in their entirety, and the divisions within the federal states are completely arbitrary and incomprehensible.
Why not download 100 km around the current location or a selected point on the map? Or draw a rectangle and download the covered area? There are simply better solutions than the current one.
-
Yes, it’s a shame because one of the major advantages of OpenStreetMap vector maps is that updates can be automated. However, it seems that Suunto does it manually
-
@pilleus totally agree, it is OK if you are in your home region (for me anyway) but when you travel it is so hard to work out which maps… I’m of to Scandinavia for my summer holidays and it isn’t easy working out which maps I need! Hopefully I have them all…
On the plus side the maps are super responsive.
